I thought that very thing not too long ago as I was watching 'The Departed' on DVD. I didn't see it in theatres, but some friends of mine kept raving on about how it was the best movie they'd seen in years, so I rented it (despite my dislike of Jack Nicholson, I do enjoy most of the things that Matt Damon and Leonardo Dicaprio have done).

IMHO the story was excellent, though the gore was gratuitous. The main problem for me was that the writers peppered the dialog with f-bombs in virtually every sentence for apparantly no reason other than the fact that they could! I found myself speculating that if they were all removed, the script would probably have ended up a dozen pages shorter...

The overuse of any word or phrase, whether it be "you know", "like", "ummm" or "f", is ultimately boring and often annoying.

Doubtful

I don't drink or use drugs so I don't expect rapid deterioration of the brain to start until well into my 70's.

That's funny, but a great outlook. I hope your brain deterioration doesn't begin until way into your 90s. It's possible you know and even possible to be as sharp as a tack as long as you live.

I was far more conservative when I was younger (high school, college age) than I am now. Back then, it was all about me, and filling my world with people who were just like me. All I cared about was whether or not I had mine, and who was trying to take mine away from me. As I grew up, I realized that I'm not an island, and I realized that there are a lot of people who look down at me just like I used to look down at a lot of people.

I have heard that as you age you sometime can't connect a face with a name. I believe this, because everytime I pass a mirror I wonder who that old lady is!!!!

I quickly changed my profile so there would be no teeny tiny hint of my age. Then I said a little prayer that no one read it before I changed it!! However then I remembered those posts I made on the fifties thread.

I did a big plating shop closure, treated 300,000 gallons of crap, then, with 18 K in the bank, took off for Europe for the first time.
