Breast cancer mortality is 52 percent higher in Germany than in the United States, and 88 percent higher in the United Kingdom. Breast cancer mortality is also 9 percent higher in Canada than in the US. Less than 25 percent of U.S. women die from breast cancer. In Britain, it's 46 percent; France, 35 percent; Germany, 31 percent; Canada, 28 percent; Australia, 28 percent, and New Zealand, 46 percent.
For every statistic supporting the wonders of the American Health Care System over that of Canada's cheaper "socialist" model - there are others that make a different statement like Life Expectancy of Americans vs Canadians
We believe in and will champion the conservative values that make the United States of America a blessed nation: small government, a strong and ready national defense, low taxes, and a government that encourages entrepreneurship and new job creation in America. We also know how critical it is for America to win the war against the radical Islamic extremists abroad so we do not have to fight them here on American soil.
If I were an English teacher, I would say that last sentence seems a little out of place.

What do you mean out of place? Why are you confused? The author went to great lengths to cite all his numbers from creditable sources. Despite his political leanings, facts are facts and his sources stand. Como dice "ad hominem"?
Missi - Our mostly liberal Dem urban centers have huge amounts of violence and homocide. And Canada and Europe couldn't protect themselves from a Russian invasion. Half the world depends on us for defense, god bless, and if they had to actually build armies to protect themselves from real threats, they couldn't do all the social welfaring that they do.
There are a lot of variables involved when differentiating Canada vs America. My conclusion is we as Americans expose ourselves - for the greater good - at more risk which skews those life expectancy numbers.
It is an interesting read with hyperlinks supporting all facts cited...
I didn't find it interesting at all. It's blog-speak -- a political screed with some numbers tossed in amongst the insults and opinions. No attempt is made at all, much less any successful one, to link any of the reported differences in breast cancer statistics to any differences in national health and medical care financing systems. This seems to have been the point of the article and of this thread, but the matter is actually never taken up at all. And of course, linking to a blog that reports but does not support a number does not count as having supported the number yourself...

I don't need the English teacher. How about tossing in a sentence about dolphins, penguins and flounder living in the Sahara desert after a full blown nuclear war?
