Yes, bullying. It ceases being 'a bad joke' and turns into bullying when it is a pattern of behavior. Is this the first joke from letterman at the expense of palins kids? Maybe - but it is not the first time her kids have been raked over the coals due to whom their mother is.
It started with the daily kos bs about bristol being trips mother.
Then of course it became about who all she slept with and if her loser boyfriend was the father.
Then it was the mother of the boyfriend.
Then it was a photoshoped pix of the youngest girl giving the finger.
Somehow it has become fashionable and acceptable to scapegoat the children of palin for being the children of palin. And yeah - that is bullying. And don't kid yourself - bullying has as lasting an effect as teen pregnancy.

I don't think Imus should have lost his job but he deserved the scrutiny and ridicule that he got as does Letterman...Also, you left off "ho" which made the Imus joke racial and sexual.
Letterman never said anything about rape. The OP manufactured that.

So you blame Letterman for all that has been said about Palin's kids, the vast majority of which have been swipes at Palin for selling herself and her family as "pure" but having more domestic issues than your average trailor park/project family. To pretend that a joke will have more lasting effects than a teenage pregnancy if foolish and childish.

Since the above link is from the Politico, you did not get the full story of how disgusting Letterman was, look at the video here. Sarah Palin was with her 13 or 14 year old daughter Willow, who was born in 1995, so Letterman is making a joke about the rape of a young girl. Whatever happened to the "Chelsea Clinton Rule", I guess it does not apply to the children of republicans.

I’m waiting for the liberals to defend Letterman’s disgusting joke, and help solidify my opinion of liberals, as mean spirited, vindictive, small-minded and hypocritical, partisan hacks.

What is just as bad is that the people in the audience laughed.

Did I say that? No, I did not. I do call Letterman out on jumping on the bandwagon of bullying (yes, it is bullying) children in order to get at their mother.
I mean, how can you possible defend that behavior? We hate the mother and her politics so lets rake a pregnant 17 year old over the coals to make the point that she is a hypocrite. How does that make any sense? I don't recall any jokes regarding the drug arrest of Bidens daughter. That was off limits as well as it should have been. But using your 'logic' since Biden has made a 'drugs are bad' speech now and again in his long career this should have made him a hippocrite and his daughter fair game.
And lets be clear - if having a rumor being spread around about you in jr high is hurtful, imagine having David Letterman making a joke at your expense on national television. Do you really think that is something an average teenager could just brush off as no big deal? You really don't think that would be hurtful?

Yes, I do believe that I deal exclusively in reality - just not the reality dictated to keep my party sacrosanct.
How about you?
Anypoliticalhack, I have yet to see you come out and actually say that Letterman was wrong without any type of qualifiers attached to it. Perhaps that is what led me to believe that you are in favor of bullying kids as long as they are palins, of course.

Going to be funny and sad when one of the Obama daughters ends up a pregnant teen.

I'm neither a Republican nor a conservative, but making jokes at the expense of children just isn't funny, regardless of who their parents are. They should be off limits.

I agree wholeheartedly. Too bad others only feel that way when it is 'their' guys family.
