The scientific evidence for climate change is incredibly strong, we're well past the point where it can be debated whether or not it is happening. Science has shown that it clearly is.

I'm not entirely sold on the premise that fighting GW will devastate our economy, but even if it were so, don't you think that GW would also be devastating to our economy, after all the land and resources lost due to the rising sea levels and droughts?

I'm no Liberal or Democrat (and certainly not a Conservative or Republican, either for that matter) but I find it really bizarre that you'd fault Obama and the Democrats for trying to avert a future catastrophe, especially when it's backed by strong evidence.
I find it quite funny that all these man made global warming alarmists only look at the past 200 years of history and forgo the rest of the 4.5 billion years our planet has survived. If I remember correctly our planet has survived two total ice ball conditions, several severe warming periods. And many ice age periods. Our planet is in a constant state of change, what makes people so ignorant to think that we caused, or should stop the evolution of our planet?

Again, Global Warming is happening, and we need to stop pretending that it is not.
your right, it has been yelled about since the early 1900's, then in the 1970's it was global cooling and the coming ice age. It has just caught on now because they found enough gullible sheeple that will listen to horrible science that has been twisted to meet the views of politicians.

A lot of the trouble with all of this most recent Chicken-Little Global Warming stuff is that most who are buying into this B.S. are too young to remember the 70's or weren't even born.

I guess that in another 30 to 40 years, it'll all come around again ..

The fact that you honestly think that climate change is comparable to "the world is flat" is quite telling.

We can observe that the world isn't flat, hell, we have photos proving that it ain't. Oh, wait. You probably don't believe in the moon landing either. Nevermind.

Same with global warming, actual temperatures have been rising, glaciers and the Arctic have been melting, while humans have been ravaging the environment. It's not hard to see a connection here.

There is a difference between natural changes, and artificial change.

the connection is not with humans, the planet has been doing it for 4.5 BILLION years. Hell scientists have been tracking a similar trend of warming and cooling on MARS. now martians do not drive hummers do they?

Sigh,...

Once again, there is a fundamental difference between the earth changing on it's own, and human activity altering the climate.

Oh sure ... you, of course being the scientist. In the 1500's, you would be the type to swallow the flat world theory, hook line and sinker, and not even question the authority behind why you believe what you do.

I could run, course after course, right here on CD that proves that these things of which you speak are cyclic, extending back thousands of years, and that the modern argument for the Global Warming position stops after only 150 years.

We can also go on and on with ice core samples, ocean core samples, plate techtonics, and volcanism ... all of which plays into the whole global warming/cooling cycles if you wish.

And we haven't even touched base on the principles of stellar evolution yet.

Better yet, why don't you just run on off and get studied up on the real science before you come all in here and try to blow your junk science smoke up my butt.

one is known, and has a scientifically provable track record that spans 4.5 billion years.

the other is politically motivated, with only 200 years studied, and modified to match the view points of said political figures.

yes there is a difference.
