Thats outstanding. If everyone were to follow your example, or at least make the effort, we could start actually reducing the greenhouse gases we all spew into the atmosphere. Its the little things, but more importantly, its the attitude and heightened awareness that brings about incremental change. And without this we won't put the priority on renewable energy.
I wonder if people even realize the planet has, roughly, about 37 years left of oil (if demand remains constant, which it wont) and as these reserves continue to shrink, the demand for them will get increasingly desperate

Who are we? If you are speaking of we as a global collective and If we are approaching a tipping point than China and India will inevitably tip it regardless of American leadership.. shaky logic or realistic outcome?
The most logical thing any nation can do is invest in infrastructure and programs with two goals
protect the masses and if not plausible to move masses of individuals into protective zones.

Shaky logic. Your response is to throw in the towel and try and outproduce China and India in pollution (of which we presently do).
We have a chance to lead the world, and inevitably, it will become necessary. We can start now, or we can start later.
Of course Bush/Cheney wanted to start later, they are both oilmen. Look at their stock portfolios

I didn't say we should outproduce China.. I said that regardless of what our actions are - China and India will nullify those actions regardless of leadership. If we can in a progressive manner that won't impact the livelihood of our citizens, produce greener energies we should do it. However, if it is going to compromise competitiveness it will only hurt us not help - especially in light of the fact that the globe is interconnected environmentally.
American leadership is not going to change China and India - the sooner you get it through your head the better. According to you there won't be a later so why are you talking in future terms? Unless of course you don't buy the enviro doom and gloom scenario as brought to you by enviro fanatics of course!? Read any good books lately - like the book of Revelation....

No do you have a crystal ball??
I think it's logical to infer the U.S will not disuade China and India from burning fossil fuels in favour of environmentalism...
HAHA i dropped the book of revelation in there as sarcasm to draw a parallel between your doom and gloom scenario and that of another. However, you seem very quick to jump to conclusions anyway...
