If/When Marijuana is Legalized...
Would you be in favor of releasing those who were sentenced to prison for a marijuana related "crime"/ offense?
This mainly pertains to possession.

Marijuana-related? I don't think so. Simple possession? Absolutely.
There are too many variables in "marijuana-related" - did they shoot or hurt someone? Did they embezzle money from a business?

If it were possession were legalized . . . that really would only be fair, right?

Absolutely release those who are incarcerated for simple possession. Do not release dealers, etc.
With that said, simple possession is a misdemeanor in (I think) every state. They rarely serve much, if any, time. In some states, in fact, it's already a traffic ticket level offense.

I'm not sure about dealers. I believe that many of them were in possession of what the law in their state considered a large amount of marijuana, and they then deduced that the person was dealing. If that's the case, and there's no violence or other illegal activity, I would be in favor of releasing those individuals.

"Possession" doesn't carry prison time for 99 percent of these cats anyhow. If they are doing prison time, they had a house full of it, they were dealing a lot of it or it involved a plane, a boat or a fence.

Look what prohibition did to this country 70+ years ago.
See any similarities to drugs being illegal? Make something illegal, and you will see corruption.
