that's ONE option from hundreds to watch on TV.
NBC is really the official network of obama and that includes MSNBC.

They have truly obfuscated their role as watchdogs for the public - they have become curiously incurious when it comes to obama.

Never trust a fascist news site to report on other fascist news sites.

Anyone who is even a casual observer of ABC knows that this is hogwash.

Remember the lesson of Akre v Fox News?

Just why would Disney suddenly become pro-Dem (even corporate Dem) afer supporting the GOP for so long?

The person who wrote this letter is saying "IF" meaning that he either doesn't know whether or not the time is being paid for by the DNC, or he does know the answer about whether or not the time is being paid for and he just wants to give a wrong impression and get people upset.

Can anyone verify whether or not the airtime will be "free"???

Check out the very last line of the paragraph:

Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime."

If the guy who wrote the letter knew for sure that the DNC was not paying for the airtime, why didn't he SAY THAT? I just like for the "loose ends" to be tied up before making a decision. The person writing this letter did a good CYA in the last paragraph. They put that paragraph in there so they will not be liable for putting out false information.

QUOTE FROM THE LETTER CONTAINED IN THE LINK IN THE OP:

"In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime. The President has stated time and time again that he wants a bipartisan debate. Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime."
The issue of who's paying for the airtime is relevant. If the DNC is paying for it, then it should be highlighted prominently before and after the programming. Do we agree on that? If it's not being paid for by the DNC, do you agree that this extreme bias is dangerous to American's?

Also, it seems that you conveniently omitted the fact that:

"Today, the Republican National Committee requested an opportunity to add our Party's views to those of the President's to ensure that all sides of the health care reform debate are presented. Our request was rejected."

REJECTED! So who's being objective here? I'm not finding a single bit of objectiveness anywhere (unless the DNC prominently displays that it paid for the airtime).

Cable news networks operate on no such philosophy or limitations.

If these extreme biases don't bother you now, what would you say if the bias was in the other direction. Didn't think about that did you? No surprise there. Network news being in bed with the President is not good for any of us.
Okay. I didn't know that information about the PUBLIC airwaves. I learned something here. However, I'd still like to hear ABC's position.

Also, ABC is just ONE network. So you have options. There are two other networks to watch if you don't want to see or hear anything coming from the President regarding the health care issue.

This thread, the OP, and the posts therein, are very inflammatory. ONE network will be focusing on the President's health care plan, for those of us who want to watch it. You and everyone else have many, many other options for TV viewing that night. The President and Democrats ARE NOT TAKING OVER THE AIRWAVES. Not happening.

Well, WAIT AND SEE what happens. Note the word REQUESTED. They ASKED if they could present an opposing view. ABC said no. However, that does not negate the paragraph which questions whether or not the DNC or someone else is paying for the time.

I think you should stop wasting time posting here, and start writing letters to the White House and all the GOP Congress people. Call FOX News. Get the facts. And maybe you might want to consider not jumping the gun on the "communism" fear simply because one Network is going to have these programs regarding the President's health care plan.

Here's another source:

ABC News to Air Healthcare Conversation With Obama June 24 : TVBizwire : TVWeek - Television Industry news, TV ratings, analysis, celebrity event photos
"ABC will air "Questions for the President: Prescription for America" on June 24 at 10 p.m."
With a title like "Questions for the President: Prescription for America" I'd kinda expect the President to be the main or only one being questioned, wouldn't you?

Personally, I have no problem with this. FOX "News" has been the mouthpiece for the right for many years - it's good to see other networks take the same "fair and balanced" approach.

Damn shame the Fairness Doctrine went out the window in '87, eh?
