He apologized again last night. IMO it looked like he was forced to do it. It did not seem sincere. His writers are at fault, they should have done their homework and it was wrong to make innocent children the subject of such a cruel joke. It wasn't funny anyway. Letterman is better when he is spontaneous and I like his interviewing techniques but never really cared for his monologue.

Nobody can or ever will replace Johnny Carson. He truly was the KING of late night The only other late night host with true talent is Craig Ferguson. Hope he moves up to an earlier time slot. He is proud to be an American and I really admire that in him.

My problem wasnt with the joke..

My problem was the hypocracy of the liberal supporters who all of a sudden wanted to defend lettermans right to free speech while criticize conservatives for exercising that same right.

You hit the nail on the head. Speaking out of both sides of their collective mouths must be quite tiring - not to mention stupidly embarrassing.

About time. The supporters of Lettermans "right" to make this kind of statement were showing a blindness in their stance of liberals = right, conservatives = wrong on every subject. The whole episode was just a display of poor judgement.

I agree with you on Carson but I also watched Leno religiously. Can't stand Conan so now I watch Letterman, he can be pretty darn funny at times. To me his apology last night seemed sincere.

Time for the sensationalist media to let it go. The Jackass has "apologized", she has accepted. He (along with many other leftists) is simply threatened and afraid of her political position. She resonates with millions of people.... and he has a plummeting, dreary late-night job....

What does this mean, exactly?

Palin's acceptance of Letterman's apology:

"Of course it's accepted on behalf of young women, like my daughters, who hope men who 'joke' about public displays of sexual exploitation of girls will soon evolve," the statement read.

Actually, he works in the afternoon/early evening, not late at night.
