There is that. There have been a number of stories reporting that the administration talked Twitter into delaying its site maintenance so as not to interfere with the ability of protesters to get the word out.

Reagan's criticisms of apartheid were extremely timid and came late in his administration, and he didn't criticize Ferdinand Marcos until Marcos was already out of power. He NEVER criticized Mohammed Zia al Haq, the House of Saud, Suharto, Rios Montt, or Pinochet - in fact he was pretty open about supporting said regimes. Reagan vetoed a bill that would have cut off military aid to the Saudis unless they allowed human rights and religious freedom.

Since people seem to be salivating at a blood bath, I would guess they would blame the people running the country since they're the ones that killed them.
Well, this is a bit different than the excuse put forth in this thread that those that speak out are causing irreparable harm to the protesters.

If we're not interfering I don't see what the issue is. The logic seems pretty consistent.

They're mad because he didn't solve all the worlds problems only the ones that meant the most at the time....

If McCain were president he'd be taking soldiers out of Georgia and Ukraine and moving them into Tehran right about now.

Obama is keeping cool and doing the right thing.

Sure, just like Carter kept his cool to the point that Iran became an Islamo-fascist totalitarin hell-hole that is currently building the nuclear arsenal with which they plan to destroy Israel and likely us as well. BOs gonna keep cool until 9/11 is a footnote in history.

So you think the US should overtly intervene in other countries' business.

We should start parachuting into Tehran now, right?

McCain didnt win the election, sorry.

I suspect the US government is doing something quietly to help without anything being in the public eye judging past patterns, although I have no solid proof or evidence of this.

That's an interesting question. I would hope we do - working with opposition groups and gathering intelligence, offering aid (non-military). However I seem to remember reading that we had been lacking in live intellegence assets and operators in the middle east since about the early 90's - the old fashioned spy network. That is indeed one of the reasons why 9/11 happened and why we were so mistaken with WMD's in Iraq. This in favor of technological snooping devices like sattelites, etc. Did the Bush administration lay some networks inside Iran? Who knows. But my guess is we are doing nothing and my guess is Obama doesn't have the stomach for increasing the live intellegence gathering and operating process.
