The Rich get away with it
It seems that no matter what crime they commit, many rich people, in particular politicians and celebirities get away or have a ridiculiously short sentence compared to your "average citizen".
The worst part is that the courts and fans support them. The judges give lenient sentences, a prominent one being Mike Tyson, who after being sentenced 6 years for rape only served 3...3 years for raping someone.. The worst part was that this sicko was recently featured in the new film "the Hangover", only reinforcing his popularity and ignoring the fact that they put a convicted rapist in their movie. Is this not craziness?!?! because hes was a good boxer, we can overlook his crimes??!?!
justice should not be dependant on how large you bank account, but it seems like that. I wanted to write more but i'm just going to lay this out and let others take over.
BTW I'm beginning my studies in political science next year and i plan to become a lawyer to become a politician. I know lawyers have a reputation of low moral standards, and i totally agree. They often use people and sell out their conscience for money. This too is sickening.
I mentioned that because I hope to one day change the special privileges they receive, at least in Canada.

I never said they go to jail.... as I pointed out in my Mike Tyson example.. but this is not always the case and when it happens, its often for a short time.
Amy Winehouse for example is a known drug user (crack, cocaine and heroin) and there are even videos on youtube showing her using these drugs... yet, wheres the jail time??
I do not however want to continue to use individual examples, because the list goes on and on. but even the police allowed OJ Simpson to drive all the way home (50 miles) with their sirens on before taking him down... yep thats justice.. they do that actually for most criminals, let them drive home first. the show Cops just doesn't show that part i guess

It's ok, apparently politicians don't have to pay taxes. Or at least that's what I've seen lately.

During the Lakers rally in Los Angeles, somebody had a sign stating "F--- You Kobe Haters!" When a news reporter inquired about the sign, he was told that the sign was intended for everybody who began disliking Kobe Bryant after that "rape thing".

ya and Milken served only 22 months of a 10 year sentence, madoff is getting what he deserved and taubman served 9 1/2 months. I also think that although some justice is sometimes served, it's more the celebrities that get away with the crimes

exactly the problem.. people outside the courtroom when Paris Hilton was sentenced began screaming and crying.. how pathetic that we value these peoples "talents" above what kind of people they actually are. its sick and pathetic.

Tyson got 6 but served 3 b/c of "good behavior." People are getting out of government earlier b/c it is too costly to keep them in jail.....last time i checked, it was almost 50k per year that we are paying to keep these prisoners......i do agree that celebrities has it easier with the judicial system

The Rich does get away with everything, but you have to cut them some slack compared to the racial thing, i'm sorry to say but caucasion people get away with everything compared if their rich or poor. so you do have to put that into the comparison. Rich doesn't matter, the racial issue is still there we would like for it to go away, but it's not that simple.

in contrast, the rich can sometimes be a target. because they have deep pockets, sometimes they are the butt of frivolous lawsuits.
