No, I hear about it, but people enjoy bashing California more than New York. I guess they're jealous.

Funny, how everyone likes to quote the "Founding Fathers" except when it comes to direct participation of the people in the decision making process. Perhaps if California had listened to the Founders about mob rule, see the ridiculous governance by referendum, they wouldn't be in the dire straights that they are in today.

Heh heh ... I guess you're right.

California ... the only state in the union with government styled border check stations designed to turn you around if you so much as even have a bug up your butt ... ah yes ... California ... The Sunshine State .. LOL ..

Yeah, I've never understood the point of those stations. I mean - there's one on I-15 about an hour north of the California/Mexico border. What good does that do?

Oh, and California is The Golden State. Florida is The Sunshine State.

I think a lot of this is due to the fact the state has such liberal welfare laws and an overburden of public necesities used by unregistered citizens. The state has to compromise by overtaxing its legitimate citizens. I've been saying this for years that it's going to lead to disaster. To be honest, I don't think any real liberal or conservative reform is going to fix it within reasonable time. My advice to anyone who lives in California: move

Figures ... .. I was just in Florida Friday.

I stand corrected

Agreed completely. California's welfare laws may soon be changing, especially with the growing resentment of 'undocumented illegal aliens'. California is finally starting to wake up and it's about time.

And I currently live in California and I'm nowhere near wanting to move. My next move will be out of the country in a few years, but there is no state I'd rather be in but California.

California's conservative politicians align with the ultra liberals in my state. You haven't seen conservative in California in a long time... regardless if the politicans have a 'D' or 'R' after their name.

You must have a far right-wing definition of conservative.
