My guess (I couldn't follow the link) is that the digital transition effected many viewers. At my cottage I lost the only two channels that I get (both the same network!).
But still that's (in total) 19-25 million viewers who watch those news programs.

Only a minority of people watch the news (broadcast or cable), these days, to start with.
Most have better things to do.

(please note, that if it was 'state run media' Fox too would be controlled by the state.)

Insiders tell us at least one network is looking into the continued impact of the digital TV transition which occurred June 12.

AW youse lefties missed the real reason for the decline. Couric and Gibson were off all week. That sounds like a real excuse to me.

However, ABC plans to have their special tomorrow evening in the White House and that should really bring up their numbers. Think how embarrassing it would be if their numbers didn't really jump up for the infomercial.

Ratings for drowning ABC may go up a few when Newscaster in Chief takes over to shove down his healthcare debacle tomorrow.

That's true. Most people are far too busy watching Fox! I guess you can lie to some of the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but eventally most of the people get tired of being lied to and change the channel.

You may want to get your facts straight. I believe 70% (or thereabouts) of DEMOCRATS want government run healthcare. Most Americans who already have insurance are satisfied with their current plan (70% or thereabouts).
