Default Even a tiny country like The Netherlands has told the Iran consul that this is not tolerated....

The government has ordered the Iran consul to get the word to his country that The Netherlands is not tolerating the violence against the Iran people and the way the Iran government is going about with the demonstrations....
Wow...This country fits 3 times Florida and has stronger words and action than Obama!

Obama let the Iran delegation be a part of the 4th of July celebrations...isn't that more or less making a statement like "we really like you"...otherwise you wouldn't invite them or disinvite them!

Let's be realistic for a moment - the US needs Iranian cooperation regarding Afghanistan. War creates strange bedfellows, like it or not.

All war creates is a lot of dead people.
It doesn't solve problems in the long run.

Bet they'd be a whole lot more helpful if we got rid of that dooms-day theocracy.

I wouldn't object if Obama disinvited Iran from the July 4th events, but that's his call to make. Avoiding nuclear war is more important than making a point about another country's election results.

That's not what Mousavi has pledged to do, though. He's a product of Iran's theocratic system just like all the other "approved" candidates.

We need Iran to continue to patrol its Afghan frontier to block militants (something Iran has been doing to a reasonable extent) and to use its religious influence to keep Shia-heavy western cities like Herat as calm as possible (which has been working relatively well so far).

If Iran becomes incapable of fulfilling those roles, America will have a serious problem in western Afghanistan.

You still pushing this non-starter up stream? Is the foreign policy of the United States in any way tied to that of the Netherlands? Just a few months ago, you and other wingnuts were foaming at Obama for considering talks with various countrys, now you want him sticking his nose in everybody's business..Eventually, you're going to have to find a point and stick to it.

And what do you think the administration is doing behind the scenes, genius... rooting them on? Do you think the Netherlands has the same national security interest of making sure the Middle East becomes stabilized? Don't you think our President has to take a longer term view because of the drain that the Middle East is on our collective lives? Unbelievable...

Well it seems that almost all European countries are stepping up and are more vocal towards Iran's government than this president is...he thinks that by waiting and being cool, the issue will go away....
