User fees would pay for rescue personnel and insurance would pay for any property damage. There's no need for government intervention.

You're all so happy to whine about handouts and that people should take care of themselves. Any of you actually do that 100%? If not it's only a matter of degree, I'd bet my $ that we all take advantage one way or another. Ya'll' talk the talk, who can honestly say they walk the walk?

At this point we have no choice. Also, I pay a fair share of the funds for these items. However, just because I utilize them and benefit from what my tax money pays doesn't mean that I support the manner in which they are funded or who provides them.

The solution is not to tax us more OR keep letting those leeches to make a living off of the system. Make THEM fix the problem. If they choose to be bums then let Mother Nature take its course. It's called natural selection!

I believe that they should also be tested for drugs and/or alcohol when they pick up their checks. Also, once they recover from their illnesses should be obligated to some sort of community service.

Since we're on the topic of healthcare, I think you'll find that there's a lot more wasteful bueracracy in the private insurance field than in Medicare or Medicaid, which, unlike private insurance companies, don't make a business out of denying coverage to as many of their customers as possible.

Maybe this would be enough incentive for everyone to BECOME rich. Actually, with the reduction in taxes everyone would be able to afford it.

To me that's just quitting, don't think that's what brought us to where we are. Remember, many tod orville and Wilbur that flying was impossible.

Assuming they can afford to recover from their illnesses... we do live in America, after all. But really, you people are heartless... every post I read from a libertarian I just get this picture in my head of some 4 year old going "ME ME ME MINE MINE MINE NO WANT SHARE DADDY IT'S MINE," just funny to me, I don't know.
