If only it was the easy.
Why does everyone think this is so simple? Not everyone has the resources that you people have. I very much believe in not giving hand outs but health care is basic survival. What a bunch of heartless...I'll stop there.

well there you go ! So are you implying that only the wealthy should pay for everyone elses healthcare?

And the right is always crying that we may only have the capability to destroy the world 40 or 50 times over and that's simply not enough so we should spend a few 100 billion to increase that capability. Or that government doesn't exist to benefit the people, they'll say this while cruising down a government financed highway in a vehicle rendered much safer due to government financed research while they drive to the doctor for a vaccination with a medicine made possible due to government funded research but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, the government shouldn't do anything for the people.
Makes perfect sense

What is your definition of "fine?"

Yeah, I'd sure hate to have those longer lifespans and lower infant mortality rates and lower costs and all that... but, admittedly, Canada has its problems. Check out Germany or France for examples that would probably work better here with some modifications. Not all universal health care systems have long waiting lists and government-employed doctors.

You know, in another thread you stated we were just going to disagree and I concured.
This thread asks for peoples opinions either for or against universal medical care. I gave my sincere opinion, nothing else, and you come back and call me "heartless."
Why can't I give my opinion without being subject to name calling?
good night.

I wasn't singling you out I find anyone who doesn't believe in helping those who can't afford to get medical help, heartless.
It's ironic that the religious people who are all about helping are the ones that DON'T want to help. I'm agnostic and if I'm wealthy, charge me extra taxes so that I can help other survive. I currently have health care but I am far from wealthy.

The Preamble to the Constitution, the stated purpose of its existence, makes it pretty clear what the opinion of the founders would be. Despite those who pretend they know better I'd prefer to stick with the original. And if provide for the general welfare doesn't include something like healthcare I'd like to hear a logical argument why that's so.

Shadow , really you should slow down and think about your statements. A) who said life is or should be easy, if healthcare was that much of a concern for you maybe you should of moved to a more affordable place to live so you could afford it. B) I doubt very much that you know anything about peoples resources on this forum certainly not mine! C) I do believe in handouts and helping people and have been on both ends of that situation. D) Finally and this one is going to blow you away, I pay for my own healthcare for a family of 5 out of my own pocket, WOW! what a concept! now do you understand the point I was trying to make!

I do and will continue to help people (and animals) out. I am not one about tooting my own horn but I have never (before) been accused of being heartless.

A. I am moving to another place.
B. And people (like you) are claiming it is a very easy thing to overcome, when for many people it really isn't. I don't know your situation but I guarantee you there are people that have it so bad you can't imagine (I don't mean me). Not everyone can just "get health insurance".
D. No I don't understand the point you are trying to make. Not everyone in this world can be wealthy. Good job paying for your own health care, I pay for mine too. That isn't the point. Is everyone you? No. Apparently you think you're the center of the earth and everyone should be like you.
Newsflash: You are not the focus of the world.
