And if so many want this opt-out then just make it part of the plan.
End of contention.

I definately would opt out of the tax portion like the unions. I would prefer not to pay taxes on my health benefits. My guess is the rest of the country would opt out of paying taxes too making this a very expensive proposal.

Five other states -- Indiana, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota and Wyoming -- are considering similar initiatives for their 2010 ballots.

Good luck with that. The only problem even if it were successfully passed by the states is that federal laws trump state laws. Sorry the constitution gets in the way. You might as well have them opt out of civil rights legislation..Crap they can even make slavery legal again, forbid abortions. This is just an attention getter it serves no purpose.

As the article says, these ballot initiatives are most likely just going to be symbolic. Some people just like to make threats and act tough. They're like old poodles.

I am not a lawyer but I don't think that is true in every case.

We ALL should demand that ACORN does NOT do any census work.

If they show up on my property I will ask them to leave or I will call the police and file trespassing charges on them. I do not want the scam artist on my property so they can go fudge the numbers again.

Obama should be stepping in and stopping this since they are under so many investigations for FRAUD. Lets see what he does.

The US Constitution trumps state law; federal law does not necessarily trump state law.

Maybe your poll but the ones I am looking at say the opposite.

And those who are getting polled do not know the facts.

This healthcare is a total scam job.

Now, as someone mentioned again earlier, if it was so damn good then why did the drunk Teddy Kennedy add in that the President, VP, members of congress would be exempt for being forced into this scam?

And the liberals were trying to hide that fact.

People had better wake up, this healthcare proposal is a total socialist control your life scam and will not save us a damn dime.

You will be a number under Obama care, if you are not on his list or if your 50 or older you will not get the quality of care, the government will pick and choose if your are worthy of the care you might need.

If this passes then we need to really re think we allow to make decisions for us as in time you will see that this will be a total nightmare for everyone.

Hope none of you have sick parents or grand parents as Obama wants them to take pain pills instead of getting a needed surgery.

So he is essentially telling us if you are old and not important to lay there and die.

Obama - KEEP YOUR SCAM CARE - I do not want it.
