Why would any one want to hurt the feeling of others, especially when it concerns a child? There are some mean people out there.

A lot of our "hot" celebrities were homely as kids/children. I would definitely not say anything as your friend's baby girl might turn out to be the next Miss USA.

True. I've seen some ugly babies turn out to be some great looking adults. I think anyone who just tells you your baby is ugly is just mean. One of my girlfriends had a baby in high school and I went to see her and she said "Do you think she's pretty?" at that point I thought all newborn, red faced, smooshy looking kids were ugly so I said "she looks just like her daddy" and left it at that. I never know if she took it as a compliment or not but her daughter is quite attractive now so I guess it doesn't matter.

Why comment on the baby anyway? Why not just stick with another conversation with the adult, and ignore the kid altogether?

Not everything can be beautiful. You need ugly to have beaitiful. Just like you need poor to have rich.

I'll bet you read that quote "ugly eyes see ugly things" in some cheesy daily meditation book.

Some "ugly" babies grow up to be beautiful people, both in body and soul. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

I believe in karma and would be afraid to tell someone or think negatively about someone's baby, whether a relative or stranger, that their baby is ugly. If i did, i am afraid that i might have an ugly baby one day also.
