UN Rules obviously. The UN sanction/resolution we are supposedly trying to enforce, in fact DID NOT authorize the use of any kind of force.

As usual, the UN has no teeth.

The resolution authorized interdiction of ships - on a strictly voluntary basis.

If we ask NK to take a peek at their cargo, would they give permission? Of course not.

Such a resolution is meaningless and shows just how useless the UN truly is.

Yes, but apparently US is trying to get that changed, so in the future they can to forcible inspections.

Just wait until we sign the LOST treaty, and then our hands will be tied even if there was a ship WE KNEW was carrying nukes and was coming straight for NYC. Bush was pushing for the LOST treaty, and unfortunately Obama seems to be in favor of it too. It must be opposed at all costs.

That is exactly true. We know every item on the ship and how many crew are on it.

This reminds of 0bama's assertion back in January of this year, where he stated: "We are going to ban all earmarks, the process by which individual members insert pet projects without review." 0bama folded like a cheap deck of cards on that one too.

You'd think, that with two years in the senate, he would have learned as much as any of us already knew, that banning earmarks takes more then tough words, and stern looks, to pull off. And yet, in the end, that's all there is to 0bama, tough, but empty, hollow rhetoric, just like his demand for a UN resolution to inspect NoK ships.

The dangerous aspect to all this, is if 0bama thinks he is being viewed as a gutless wuss, will he do something arrogant and rash, just to prove he can be a tough guy; maybe shoot a few more teenage pirates, to make it appear that he does posses gravitas? I'm being facetious of course, but a wounded, or cornered animal can be unpredictable and dangerous.

Well, well, well.

So all that was needed from the little pot-bellied dictator was a few threats of war and annihilation?

What was that obama said about getting the international community together on this?

So does lying, as you know.

But back to the point...who said anything about being violent?
