Why does the media lie?

The media... lie? They've learned that rather than be accused of revisionist history they just write it to suit their ascribed ideology. Much as in ABC's becoming a part of the government propaganda wing, writing history to suit the narrative.

Not much different from the Bible.

And Fox doesn't lie? If that's your thought, then you really need to do more research. Below is a small portion of an in-depth study by Fair.org. Tell me what's wrong with this?

"With the ascendance of Fox News Channel, we now have a national conservative TV network in addition to the established centrist outlets. But like the mainstream networks, Fox refuses to admit its political point of view. The result is a skewed center-to-right media spectrum made worse by the refusal to acknowledge any tilt at all.

Fox could potentially represent a valuable contribution to the journalistic mix if it admitted it had a conservative point of view, if it beefed up its hard news and investigative coverage (and cut back on the tabloid sensationalism), and if there were an openly left-leaning TV news channel capable of balancing both Fox's conservatism and CNN's centrism."

"Fair.org" is biased themselves and can't be taken seriously.

Remember when the media actually took it as their duty to call the President and Congress out for things? When they actually reported news, instead of being cheerleaders.

It used to be a badge of honor to expose the problems going on in the government. They wanted to go out and find and expose ineptness and things that are destroying our country.

Now they're cheerleaders. That's it. The media doesn't really exist anymore.

Fox, though it does tend to lean a little right, still tries to report problems with the government. In fact, they hurt our poor dear leader's feelings because he thinks they're out to get him.

Honestly, the entire media NEEDS to be out to get our politicians and hold them accountable. At least Fox doesn't bow down to the man and turn their network over to him.

The article says Cuba is censoring the news from Iran, that is incorrect. It also says China is censoring news from Iran, that is also incorrect.

Funny. I did a search on flickr with "media lies" and came up with these.

Wouldn't be the first time WaPo is lying.

But WaPo is better at it than Fox.
