There is a world and reality beyond Fox news.
The Bush "mal" administration? Please. George W. Bush is an American and patriot who loves his country. He did what he saw necessary after 9-11 to protect America from further attack, and to make an earnest attempt at attacking the problem of worldwide terrorism, which nobody before him had done.

That is why early in his administration, and before the events of 9-11, he said he was tired of [us] simply "swatting flies" but wanted to deal with the problem of terrorism once and for all.

His response to 9-11 was the right one. Remember that Clinton did nothing at all on his watch to deal with terrorism, and even after the attack on the USS Cole, a clear act of war against the U.S., Clinton did nothing. This sort of inaction will always embolden an enemy, because they see us as weak, and afraid to respond.

I'm sure the response to 9-11 by George Bush was a complete surprise to the terrorists around the world. They didn't expect it.

Further, the strategy behind going into Iraq, whether you like it or not, was to:
  1. Remove an evil dictator who had been involved in the development of WMD's (know fact, and acknowledged by the entire world), who had used such weapons against his people, who was a threat to the U.S. in that any attempt we made toward retaliation for 9-11 and to "flush out" and destroy terrorist cells and operations could potentially offer weapons and support, safe haven, money, etc., to such terrorists and thereby thwart our efforts, putting our troops at great risk. And finally, who had repeatedly violated U.N. resolutions regarding his activities.
  2. Replace the terrorist run dictatorship with a friendly Democratic government, pro American, which would become an example to other peoples in the Middle East, and which would provide us with a base of operations for further efforts and activities to destroy Al-Qaeda.
Though terrorism still exists, the success of our efforts in Iraq cannot be denied. The people are free, the Dictator is gone, and the streets of Iraq, though there is still some violence happening, are safer. Iraqi's have repeatedly expressed their gratitude to the U.S. for our actions, and if you do not believe this, you are not listening to the stories of U.S. troops when they return home (which the "mainstream press" rarely cover).

Obama, on the other hand, has begun the systematic destruction of the U.S. economy, our republican form of government, and capitalism (which he despises). He believes that the wealthy have gotten their wealth "on the backs of the poor" and has said that his purpose is to "return America's wealth to it's rightful owners". That phrase tells us a lot about who he is and what he believes.

Obama is no American. He is certainly not a patriot. He means harm to this country, and he aims to destroy it. With the help of a complicit media, and Congress of like minded "progressives/socialists", who also would like to see the destruction of capitalism, seeing it as evil, America, as we have known it, unless we act, will be history.

Last Friday, the House passed, without ever reading the bill (this is becoming commonplace) the so-called "Energy Bill", better known as "Cap and Trade", which is the most far reaching and most massive tax increase and and intrusion into American life and American industry in our entire history. Worst of all, it is predicated on the false notion of "Global warming", and that man, with his industrial activities, is responsible for it.

This bill will increase the price of everything dramatically. It is estimated that the cost to every household in America will be in the thousands of dollars, annually. Even food prices are expected to skyrocket.

Calls from constituents were running 10:1 against this bill (according to reports). But they don't care. They passed it anyway. They have their agenda. Obama himself made frequent calls to the House, to pressure Congressmen to vote for the bill, according to news sources.

We are headed for massive unemployment, and hyper inflation. Tough times like America has never seen before. This could have been avoided. But it is not Obama's plan to avoid it. This is what he wants, because it gives him, and his "new" government, the power to regulate and control virtually every aspect of our lives, our economy, and our businesses.

Do you think George Bush was bad? Do you think GW spent to much? "You aint seen nothin' yet" (Obama's words, a phrase he purposely lifted from our greatest President of all time, Ronald Wilson Reagan).

Compared to Barack Obama, George Bush was almost a Saint.

I'm scared too. I'm scared for my children, and my grandchildren, who are just beginning their lives, and had the kind of hopes for the future that I had when I was their age. I saw America, like so many others, as the land of unlimited opportunity. A country where one could realize their dreams, and earn as much as their ambition, their ingenuity, and their intelligence would allow. I often cite Bill Gates, and the guys from Apple Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs, and all the others like them. Every company I ever worked for started in some one's garage, and grew to employ hundreds of people. They were small companies, but we had great products and sold them around the world. And we were profitable too.

Today, we don't have any hope left, under Barack Obama. But we sure have lots of change. And it isn't for the better.

It's time to end the criticism of George W. Bush, and deal with the mess that Barack Obama has made of the country in so short a time, and which he is making worse day by day.

This isn't playtime anymore. Playtime is over. This is showtime, and there will be a showdown. There are millions of us across this country that are committed to cleaning the entire House and Senate of this cancer that we have allowed to grow for too many decades.

I, for one, am not about to let this idiot, and this "head bobbing" Congress, destroy our country. I love my freedom and liberty too much, and I want it for my children and grandchildren, just as our founders created it and left it to us to preserve for all generations.

If you cannot see what this man is doing to our freedom, and our country, you have your eyes closed.

WAKE UP!

I agree that we are indeed in a depression but the news does not tell us that. In fact the news lies more then the cops and polticians.

Great! George Bush was indeed a wonderful president! Obama created all this mess in less that 5 months but the country was perfect until Obama took over. I really miss Bush's intellectual approach to governing like when he said "They misunderstimated me" I miss his genius and intelligence.

you summed this up perfectly!!! Why does no one care about that great increase in food /energy???? I am shocked that so many people are just like bend over and take it. You say skyrocket and I believe it. I started out saying I am scared and you summed up how I feel so well written and expressed what I am trying to say. Thanks Marilyn and I agree with this with my true heart. This makes so much sense to me.

Just like it took them a year to say "recession" it will take time before they will say "depression".
They are now past all previous recessions in comparison and comparing this to the Great Depression.

LMAO! Yep, Obama has totally destroyed America in 5 short months...right. You support a man who passed wide-ranging intrusion into the privacy of Americans but believe that Obama is a threat to your "freedom and liberty." If America falls, it won't be because of Obama, it will be because of the treason from within. If you manage to bring about the anarchy that you support, the results will be on your shoulders. How convenient for one to have ignored the depredations of lobbyists under both Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush 43, only to magically awaken now. The same with the economy. Go back to sleep.

I dont know if it is. And what would you think if the energy does skyrocket. How about food and all the goods and someone mentioned school would use more so we would pay more. How would you feel if lets say you did wind up paying 2000 more a year or 3000? Would you say the same. If it does not go up food/energy I can admit it may be a good idea but can you???? WOuld you have no problem with that much? I am not picking on you just asking. But more important what do you think its going to go up too in your best guess??

I'm not sure how your family is doing "better" than you've ever done. The entire economy is in a major slump. Perhaps some sectors are not affected, or are acually benefitting from the loss of others.

"Proud" of this government? It's a daily shell game. Every day they are proposing new ways to empty your wallet and control your life.

Better enjoy it while you can, if you are indeed "doing better". It isn't going to last.

As a self employed person, I can tell you, things aren't good. We have never seen such tough times before. People simply are not spending money. They don't have it.

Such is the Obama economy.
