While it is true that Hispanic-Americans and Blacks may be more reticent to showing their Gay Pride, isn't a fact that the majority of gays are of the White race?
Well since whites are the majority, I would definitely find that to be true. If you have ever been to a Pride event, you would see that everyone is well represented with no exclusions. I have been going to Pride celebrations since 1991 and have enjoyed every single one. To all of you that comment that it's "embarrassing", I would remind you that the Pride events are about being who you are, granted some get carried away. This is a celebration to ppl who often remain closeted in work/social situations and to those who cherish friendships in the community. It's no more embarassing than going to a Mardi Gras celebration.

I believe that most pro-gay propaganda (academia, TV scripts/shows, school curricula) is targeted at Whites as well. I don't see anyone pushing it in the Black community to the level of brainwashing that's specifically targeted at White-America.
LOGO is an OVERWHELMINGLY White cable channel. Sorry to those that want to deny it....
Could it be demographics??? The majority of channels except BET..etc. are geared toward whites,,,so it would follow a "gay" orientated channel would tap into the same demographics....gay people, no matter the race, are the same percentage of the population. Ever watch Noah's Ark???
In my city, the population breakdown is 1/3 African-American, 1/3 Latino-American, and less than 1/3 White-American.
Yet, the pride parade here is almost totally White. It's embarrassing for Whites as a people, this is what it has come to...plus also, now the biggest parade in this city is a homosexual parade. Ponder that on July 4. What a joke the US is becoming.
As a fellow "white" person....your skewed viewpoint embarasses me and other "white" people; that is why our country is a joke in Europe and the developed world!

Plus they have comedians who are of different backgrounds. Alec Mapa comes to mind.
Nope. Blacks can be very intolerant and quite prejudiced. Ask any white guy that has ever dated or married one of "their women". I am married to a Canadian of West Indian ethnicity and I have caught hell a few times in public just because they THOUGHT she is black!
What they cannot be is RACIST. Unlike whites, blacks and Mexicans do not have the POWER to make their prejudices negatively affect whites as a race. On an individual basis, they can make whites uncomfortable but whites do not depend on blacks for jobs, medical care, housing or much of anything whereas blacks and Mexicans are highly dependent on whites.
A distinction without a difference. A racist is someone who judges another on the basis of race. In other words, he prejudges that person without knowing anything about the person other than his race. Racism and prejudice go hand in hand.

I'm wondering if this is a real post or another poster with a new id (I'm leery of posters whose very first post is about homosexuality or race) but I'll respond anyway. If I had to guess I would say a lot of black people (especially men) probably don't participate because while people close to them may know of their sexual origin, there are others who don't and they don't want them to know.
But if I had to make a real response - I'd say it must be the area you live in. I saw every race when I was in Orlando and in Atlanta the parade was overwhelming black. I took some pics because there was this one guy who was rocking a slanted bob and I took the picture to my stylist - let me see if I can dig them up

I always wonder how this polls are done (not yours but in general). I remember when I was in college a girl wrote a paper about discontinuing minority scholarships and like 80% of the black people voted NO; while less than 50% of everybody else did. It turned out she'd polled like 4 black people vs 100 non-black people.

I haven't seen the movie, but I enjoy watching the series; also, as you know most of Logo's documentaries are demographically diverse....I wonder if people even watch LOGO...or trying to just start more controversy?
I believe the city in question is Chicago, a city once 90% White that is only about 30% White these days (and declining more each decade). If one wants to be honest, try googling pride parade chicago and then hit "images", one will see that the parade (participants & onlookers) is far more White than 30%, which concurs with the OP which says that Whites are disproportionately involved with Gayness and being "Gay".
Those are just the facts for those leery in dealing with them.
