Perhaps not, but he took waaaaay too much pleasure in hammering President Clinton during the impeachment process.
If I were to go babbling about another woman the way this moron has Mrs. golfgod would track me down, murder me, then serve me with divorce papers.

Well, at least you didn't condemn him through "guilty by association"
If the mistress were under his employment as Ms. Lewinski was, I would be equally outraged by Sanford's decision to bang her. As it stood, Sanford had a personal matter with an individual unrelated to the cancer that is Washington DC.
It's harder to peg Sanford as being another family values Republican, because Sanford is not as uptight about passing anti-gay legislation as other social conservatives.
He talked the fiscal conservative talk, and walked the fiscal conservative walk. He will be missed.

Instead of opening his heart to Jesus, how about opening his heart to his wife and kids?
Once he opens his heart to Jesus, he will realize his errors and then act like the husband and father he is suppose to be. Until he can get past his sins, anything he says to his wife and kids will be nothing more than a lie.
I know most of you think I am making excuses for the man, trust me I am not. What I am saying is that he can find redemption with God, and through Jesus find forgiveness and the strength to make things right with is family. But he still must pay the price for his actions.
Remember folks, and this goes especially for those of you who consider yourself Christians but have ignore this rule for a while: The sin can be forgiven, but the punishment must still be served.

What an excellent, wise post. It's always sad when anyone falls into temptation and makes poor choices, especially those people who know the difference between right and wrong. Yet, it still happens, and the rest of the world will start the stoning with glee, as we see it happening here and elsewhere. Thankfully, we do't have to be "good" for God to care for us.
If God only cared for the "good" people, He'd have nothing to do, because there are none.
For everyone who takes a wrong turn in life there is a way back but, as Tymberwulf said, our choices have consequences that are unavoidable.
