You have not seen anything yet.
You house will be totally useless under this liberal disaster.
But wait, if you are poor or a minority, you will be saved because the government will see you as unable to get the house up to par and they will make the rest of us pay you to get it green.
Another liberal hidden way to reward bums and steal of those of us who have made it in life.
Wait and see, just like grants and other things, the poor and minorities get everything first and you get what is left over which is usually nothing.
The same people like Barney Frank and Bill Clinton demanded it is a right for people to own a home, now you wait and see, they will find a way to help those losers who caused this mortgage mess will get yet another reprieve.
So yes, your house will have to be inspected by guess who? A federal agent ran by the Obama admin.
They can make and break you, just like they are trying to do.
People, you had better wake up. Another Obama and liberals way to control your every move.

I think the new way to make sure that those people have a house is called location efficient mortgage or loan or something like that. Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac will administer those loans. I guess they would be the best people to handle that kind of loans. I don't really know what that kind of loan is but surely some libs around here can explain it to me.

As I prepare to celebrate one of my favorite holidays, the 4th of July, I wonder if the celebration of this holiday in the future will be for nostalgic purposes only?

So what standards are needed for a home in Kittery, Maine will also be required of Miami, Florida or Honolulu, Hawaii.
The bill would give the federal government power over local building codes. It requires that by 2012 codes must require that new buildings be 30 percent more efficient than they would have been under current regulations. By 2016, that figure rises to 50 percent, with increases scheduled for years after that. With those targets in mind, the bill expects organizations that develop model codes for states and localities to fill in the details, creating a national code. If they don’t, the bill commands the Energy Department to draft a national code itself.
States, meanwhile, would have to adopt the national code or one that achieves the same efficiency targets. Those that refuse will see their codes overwritten automatically, and they will be docked federal funds and carbon “allowances” — valuable securities created elsewhere in the bill that give the holder the right to pollute and can be sold. The Energy Department also could enforce its code itself. Among other things, the policy would demonstrate the new leverage of allocation of allowances as a sort of carbon currency — leverage this bill would be giving to Congress to direct state behavior.

Unknown. I have been reading the bill trying to figure this out, myself. Perhaps if the home is on the national register, there would be exemptions. At least, I would hope so. But it appears to me this affects all habitable buildings. Good question.

Hell NO you don't!
You go out there and hunt them down like the dogs they are, and annihilate the threat.
Oh, and some people feel the wolf is already in the living room.

The wolf is not only in the living room, the wolf is sitting at the kitchen table. He is going thru/ your wallet . . . he is looking in every corner of your home to determine what he can take from you and re-allocate to those who are standing around w/ their hands out . . . "in order to level the playing field" as Obama is so fond of stating.

Yeah, but was he doing that before 20 Jan 2009?
Wasn't he doing that during the Bush administration?
Oh, everything changed 6 months ago and all the evils of the Bush administration didn't happen.
Yeah, I get it.

So was I, and I couldn't figure it out either, lol. (not that this is a laughing matter)
If it (the home, or building) is on the register, then there should be exemptions. I don't know about you guys, but I have dabbled in stained glass before (had to quit, it was TOO expensive, but I was good at it, and it's fun!), and there is NO WAY to make stained glass windows/door panels "energy efficient". Not to mention the fact that 10/11/12+ foot ceilings are not conducive to a lower energy bill.

The FBI, CIA, and DEA have been monitoring your energy use for decades.
While I hate for any agency to be doing so, I do call for outrage regardless of party towards any degradation of civil liberties (i.e. patriotic act...etc).
Having read a fair amount of the bill in question I have to ask, what are people actually arguing about in terms of retrofiting sfh? Please point to specific lines in the document that concern you.
