July 4th is practically sacred, so on this holiday, they can't come right out and call America a racist imperialist abomination without looking like total creeps.
Or can they? Yep. No problem, attack fireworks. That's a good proxy. It's the esthetics, you know. Scott Lemieux hates 'em. Freaking boring. And he gets a big rah rah from ... wait for it ... Matthew Yglesias! At least you can catch a good party! Their inspiration is Slate (where else), "Fireworks Suck: They Really Do."
i love america, i love what 4th july stands for independence
independence from-------------
foreign oil
debt
unwanted foreign labor
but we still have slavery
slavery at walmart from forced labor goods from china
slavery on our streets from under age women being sold by cruel slavemasters aka pimps (descendants of slaves)
slavery of illegal immigration winked at by our government 21 million under paid and under housed.
i have a dream

not everybody wants to be free
Isn't that the unfortunate truth. They want nanny government to tell them...
...what to like;
...what to eat;
...what to drive;
...how to vote;
...how to raise their children;
...how to heat their home;
...how to treat their pets;
In short:
...how to live their lives.

I love being an American today. But, my feelings about independence day are a little different because my family was NOT free that day. Took almost 200 more years for that to become a reality. Just like that bogus Columbus Day and Thanksgiving for that matter.
Not all of us are "right wingers", but thanks for playing.
