Despite the results of the 2008 presidential election, Americans, by a 2-to-1 margin, say their political views in recent years have become more conservative rather than more liberal, 39% to 18%, with 42% saying they have not changed. While independents and Democrats most often say their views haven't changed, more members of all three major partisan groups indicate that their views have shifted to the right rather than to the left.

i agree but not in the terms, when you say liberal you mean working class teachers social workers cops .
when you say conservative you mean new fascist, managers --driving an SUV and send their kid to hawaii each year & do big biz subcontracting to firms full of illegal aliens. godless bottom line behavior m-f, go to church on sunday.

i'm not mr. gallup, my friend. send him an email if you wish. the polling question said nothing about your delusional fascists, SUVs, hawaii, nor working class.

and congrats on not mentioning rush limbaugh in your response; that must have been quite difficult for you.

Doesn't help that they confined their survey to people in the following places:

Backwoods, West Virginia
Boondocks, Mississippi
Trailer Park, Oklahoma
Sticks, Idaho
Bigot City, Indiana

Tumbleweed, Arizona
Orange County, California

Its interesting since a lot of liberals on this forum place a lot of faith in the "gallup" poll... but then it is just a poll and to be honest, other than the ones on this forum becoming "born again liberals", I have notice a greater number of liberals turning to conservative views... not so much because they are conservative or would vote for a Republican but rather the disenchantment with Obama's policies and Congress...

when deficit hit 12 trillion under bush i became a born again liberal up to that time i was GOP. interesting yesterday was 4th july. on this date in 1776 2/3 or americans were opposed to any revolt and fiercly loyal to king george. even those whose daughters had been raped by occupying british troops. not much has changed.
