Default Unempoyment rate June 2006 compared to June 2009

Wow, lookie here folks.

Bush and his republican controlled congress were down right terrible at running an economy that the unemployment rate jumped to 4.6% for June 2006.

The dems were livid, saying that the Bush administration was hurting the economy with their policies and spending.

So lets spin forward to June 2009, liberals have controlled congress since 2007 and Obama is nearing 6 months in office and unemployment is now 9.5 and rising quickly.

Bush and Rep controlled congress 4.6% and the dems were going crazy.
Obama and the Dems controlled congress 9.5% and the dems are silent.

So lets recap-

Bush and the rep controlled congress 4.7% unemployment June 2006
Obama and the dem controlled congress 9.5% unemployment June 2009

Under Bush the national debt in 2006 was 574.3 million with 9-11,
3 disasters and two wars.

Under Obama the national debt in 2009 with no disasters, no 9-11 and we are now 11 trillion and growing every day with massive over spending with no end in sight.

So lets recap the debt-

Bush and the rep controlled congress 574 billion
Obama and the dems controlled congress 11 trillion+

Foreclosures-

Bush and the Rep controlled congress - 1.2 million foreclosures in 2006 for the entire year.

Obama and the Dem controlled congress 1.0 million so far this year and that is only 6 months time.

So lets recap-

Bush and the Rep congress had 1.2 million foreclosure filings for the entire year of 2006

Obama and the Dem controlled congress have hit 1 million foreclosures already and that was from Jan to June. Predictions are it will hit 2 million plus.

Bankruptcies-
Bush and the Rep controlled congress for the entire year of 2006 was
1,074,225

Obama and the Dem controlled congress so far in 2009 and it is only June has already hit 1, 202,503 filings.

So lets recap

Bush for the entire year of 2006 1,074,225

Obama for only 6 months of 2009 already has hit that mark with 1,202,503

Amazing how facts seem to fall into place and show some people who whined and complained just a few short years ago find themselves sticking their foot in their mouths today and facts show they are worse then the same people they complained about just afew years ago.

Facts will show that our current economy and job losses are getting worse by the day and we have spent ourselves into trillion of dollars of debt to stimulate the economy when in FACT it has absolutely done nothing but make things worse.

We had better wake up and real quick before it is to late. Obama told us we need to stimulate the economy and rushed this massive spending through as quick as possible and now the economy is worse and there is no urgency anymore.

Sad to see America falling apart as the facts show above and sad to see that the idea of Hope and Change that these democrats ran on turned out to be nothing but a bunch of false ideas and no real plans.

Facts and statistics - not friends of the Left.

It is very unfortunate that the dem in congress have not been held more to account in the economy - the media has basically given them a pass and fail to mention that they have been in control since 2006.

Yes, but it was mostly policies of the Bush Administration and Republicans in Congress that caused the current economic crisis. It was the Bush Administration that refused to regulate the banks, the insurance companies, the subprime mortgage market, the derivitaves market ect. In the 90's the commercial banks and the investment banks were seperate. The commercial banks got into trading mortage backed securities, which led them to make loans that they otherwise wouldn't have made, because of Senator Phil Grahm's (a Republican) deregulation bill. Bill Clinton was stupid enough to sign it into law, I'll give you that much.

Meanwhile, corporate globalization (supported by Republicans and moderate Democrats, but by more Republicans then Democrats) have cause many well paying jobs to be shipped overseas and replaced with lower paying service sector jobs. The middle class has been disapearing and wealth inequalities have been growing, which I attribute to corporate globalization and anti-union politics, both ardently supported by Bush and the majority of Republicans. This helped cause the housing bubble. Housing prices rose and rose but salaries didn't rise with it, at least not for the middle and lower classes. This meant that every day less people could afford to buy a house. Supply and demand tells us that when the demand goes down and the supply goes up (which it did since homes were continued being built) the prices go down, which is exactly what happened. The housing crisis is what caused the banks to go under, loss of construction jobs, less disposable income, loss of service sector jobs, and contributed to the collapse of the auto industry. Also, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have caused us to go into massive debt; this money could have been used to create jobs and/or cut taxes even more for the middle and lower classes. Bush's refusal to do anything about health care has led to skyrocketing costs that have put a huge burden on businesses, which doesn't do the least to help create more jobs.

That is a major issue with liberals of today, they simply will not be honest enough with themselves to know when they are cause of this mess.

Facts are facts and liberals do not like the facts when they show they are the cause of so many of our problems of today.

I just read unemployment will hit 11% this year or more, now that is ridiculous after spending all this massive amounts of money to create jobs.

Sad. Really to think that so many American were fooled to think change was coming when the facts show that liberals controlled congress for 2 1/2 years prior to this election and people still give them the chance and we all now know they blew it.

Guess you cannot trust a liberal anymore for their word.

Actually, what you first need to do is take a few courses in economics and history.

Under Bush: Low unemployment due to artificially bloated market.

Under Obama: Attempt to address Bush's exploded phony market.

Btw, what were the unemployment figures in January 2009?

Call Barney Frank up and ask him how this mess started? Then call Bill Clinton and ask him, then call ACORN up and ask them and you might finally see why this mess was caused.

Of course you bypassed the real reason for the mortgage mess, it started under Clinton when he wanted to give people with bad credit homes.

Recently, Joe Biden said that every American deserves to own a home.

WRONG JOE! No American deserves anything unless you earn it first.

Liberals forced banks to loan money to losers and that caused the problem.

My facts above show you have no clue, facts are facts. Look at the numbers.

Do not forget to call Barney Frank up?

Hate to ruin your little partisan love fest here, but people had predicted the collapse we are now in decades earlier in the 1980s.

Read "The Roaring 2000s". What we are experiencing follows perfectly the cycle that has happened every 80 years. Bush could have done more to mitigate the impacts, but no one could have prevented it.
