I'm advocating massive government spending.
It's wasn't the WAR that returned prosperity - it was the SPENDING that the war forced on us that returned prosperity.

Read the Constitution,it might help you get a grasp of the founding principles of this nation.

What "kick-start"? 0bama said his plan would jolt the economy, it has caused it to tank. His meddling is causing the recovery to slow, but I'm glad Wall Street is getting rich, while everyone else is watching unemployment numbers climb.

0bama's stimulus plan was never meant to kick-start or stimulate anything, since only about 10% has even been spent.

Cap & trade will kill jobs, and the dollar, making the cost of living soar. You let that bill pas, and it will tank the markets and jobs. So why, if 0bama wants to stimulate the economy, would he be pushing to sign the Waxman-Markey cap & trade bill?

Dont glamorize it. You just dont want to part with more money than you feel you should have to. Who does?

The federal government isnt the only entity taking money out of your pocket.

As you believe in more government and more government control, ardon me if I do not consider your opinion that important.

You favor more regulation of private business, more government intrusion, more government.

You can't compare the massive spending that occurred during WWII to the massive spending that this Admin is doing. For one, back then, we were the only game in town. Europe and Japan, had been decimated by WWII. China, Russia, India, and Mexico weren't even in the ballgame. We had a monopoly on the means of production so everyone needed us. It is a completely different game today. Our industry has been decimated (those not subsidized by the gov't print shop), shipped over to countries with much lower cost of labor, lower environmental and labor standards, etc. Massive spending will only create massive debt. There's too much competition overseas. If anything, our country needs to focus on leveling the playing field so that we can compete on the global stage.

If it were only that simple.

The entire banking and finance system was altered in order for businesses to become uber productive.

Giving millions of unemployed citizens something to do didn't hurt either.

The biggest difference between the first depression and the coming greatest depression can be summed up in two words. "MORAL COMPASS". Of which compared to the 30's. We are bankrupt.

"IT's ALL GOOD" will be our legacy of destruction.

LOL....not finding your opinion important on this matter doesn't mean I do not want to discuss the issue.

Perhaps that is the problem with a lot of people, they think their position must be valued by their opponents.

You are wrong in my opinion, you believe in bigger government, more control by government and couch it in terms of keeping us protected from exploitation by private enterprise...
