This is absolute bs. I thought senators (and I imagine that the congress as well) were supposed to be public servants? Our politicians should get bupkes for travel and living expenses. If TX is so damn huge it takes over a hundred grand to get their every weekend, then perhaps the good senator ought to stay in DC. Maybe he can get a roommate? But it is time for our 'servants' to know that they must stop feeding at the public trough -- it is empty.
