It is pathetic the way some of the leaders of this country are perpetuating the misguided hero worship of a man who, more likely than not based on reports and eye-witness accounts, was nothing better than a junkie.

Quote:
...in 2006, Jackson was in Las Vegas trying to jump-start his career. Deal maker Jack Wishna, who was helping the singer land a long-running show in Vegas, told CNN the singer would appear "drugged up" and "incoherent" -- often so weak and emaciated he had to use a wheelchair to get around.
Quote:
One security guard that sheriff's deputies interviewed said he expressed his concern about Jackson's use of 10-plus pills a night to another staffer.
The second staffer replied: "Jackson was doing better because he was down from 30 to 40 Xanax pills a night," according to the document.
One of the guards said he and three other employees would get prescriptions for Jackson under their names. The second guard backed up the claim, saying he had picked up medicine for the singer that were in other people's names.

Sources close to Jackson told CNN that the insomniac singer traveled with an anesthesiologist who would "take him down" at night and "bring him back up" during a world tour in the mid-90s.
Sad.

Try walking in his shoes and the pain he lived with daily before you judge

I have back pain and there is days I would love some of the strongest pain pills out there. Difference is I dont have to get up and perform with my back he did. I had to edit to change to did.

Lots of people were/are junkies, freaks, eccentrics, crazy, etc. MJ obviously had a lot of issues, but I don't think he was a monster (or a child molester, but that a whole 'nother story). Try a little compassion...

Just because someone was a drug user doesn't mean they had no cultural impact.

Example: Pretty much every musical artist ever

I have very little respect for Jackson. The shred of respect I have comes from the fact that he was mentally ill. I wish the topic would just go away.

LOL, my favorite hot mess of a musician drug user is Pete Doherty. Literally every picture of him is a train wreck.
