I wasn't comparing but O'Salami is looking more like the Dictator Bushy, yea if that was your point you are right.

When the current Dictator starts taking our guns then he probably will also give the same speech as Dictator Bushy: The Constitution? "Well it's just a G-damn piece of paper, dont give me that crap"

Hell after hurricane Katrina Bush the dictator ordered the National Guard to go door to door in New Orleans to collect all legal guns. If the gun owner/homeowner refused, the Guard had orders to use force and deadly force if needed.

Bye bye America...it was nice knowing ya.

I believe that pbo and congress shall not make firearms illegal, or try to confiscate them, as to do so shall start something that neither the president nor congress will be able to stop.

all it takes is 3% to make something happen, and there is already more than that 3%.

Again, I'm very confused and I am desperately awaiting some clarity. We offer bounties for a whole plethora of tips regarding criminal activity and carrying a firearm without a permit in New Jersey is a crime! So please someone, anyone, explain to me what is nefarious about a city, a state or even the Federal government offering citizens a reward for stepping up to the plate to report illegal activity?

My question is: How is the caller to determine whether or not the person has a permit to carry a weapon or, should they just report all, and the police can figure it out?

This also has the potential to give LEOs the right to kick a door in, "We received an anonymous tip that you had an illegal weapon."

I thought part of our justice system, part of the constitution even (6th) stated that you had the right to face your accuser, how does that play out when your accuser is promised anonymity? Especially in a case where there is actually a charge.

This is a variation of a program that was tried here in Newark under the previous mayor Sharpe James (who is now in a federal prison ). Under the James program YOU actually brought YOUR illegal gun down to one of the four police precincts in the city and received a few hundred dollars with no questions asked. The program was not an overwelming success because the gun could be sold on the street for double, sometimes triple, for what the police were giving. Also, many people did not trust the no questions asked provision. It remains to be seen if this one will be a long term success.. I dont think most Newark residents would be willing to turn in someone they knew that had an illegal gun. A lot of people carry guns here for personal protection and not to stick up stores and most of them do not have permits, or at least it seems that they dont. If everyone did what Mr. Booker is suggesting there would not be enough room at the municipal lock-up on Green St. to hold everyone until they saw a judge.
