Could be.

I also wonder how the OP knew that the people buying all that food in the store were using food stamps. The last food stamp thread had an OP who would look closely at the cards, but surely not everyone does that.

In my world, food stamps would only be for the very young or very old, and then just for fruits, vegetables, lean meats, whole wheats and milk. That's it.

I don't know how you could tell, unless the EBT card for that state is VERY distinctive. Even then, you could not tell if they were paying for food with food stamp allotment or cash that was dispensed via EBT. Unless you were the Eagle-Eyed Receipt Reader of that other thread, that is.

I think you'd find that it is not a fun life. Yeah, I know you're kidding, but honestly. If working people meet the income criteria, they qualify. Read the link I posted upthread with the eligibility requirements to see what I mean.

In the real world, some people are allergic to milk and wheat.

I'm curious about something.

The OP said this:

Quote:
She hands me her , what I thought was a debit card, and says " buy your lunch too.
You didn't mention whether she gave her her PIN or not.

You'd have to have it to use her card, wouldn't you?

Yeah, I noticed that too. Throw in the nonsensical McDonald's aspect of the story and....well, you can draw your own conclusions but my BS detector says this is a made-up story.
