I think of Right Wing in different context as Republican or conservative, more of a negative extreme political viewpoint (not just in guns or video games). Right wing hypocrisy is amazing, going after another person for something they don't like and often their shining example of morals has done it before (or quickly found to have done it later, like Ted Haggard). Even the more born again right wing people in my own family do it to a degree that is comedic.

It's made it difficult for me to really consider candidates that have a more conservative viewpoint, I would consider myself a moderate with some viewpoints more conservative.

I thought this was an interesting quote recently as well:

"...the states that vote most heavily Republican are the ones with the highest divorce rates, teenage births, and usage of online pornography—the highest rates of sin.
...
Sin is bad; but the true offense is sin in the absence of guilt—an indifference to the notion that there are moral boundaries even worth recognizing."

That's effin' funny. Take a gun to church for protection against priests. That is just too good!

Right wingers, or Republicans? You have to make that distinction first, because not all Republicans are right wingers. In fact, not all Democrats are left wingers either.

Were did you get the idea that anybody, be it a right winger, Republican, or even conservative Democrat says that everybody should be free to go anywhere with a loaded gun? In my view you have no idea of what a loaded gun is.

That said, every law-abiding citizen (not young children, felons, etc.) should be able to carry a gun to a lot of places for protection, or hunting, or shooting targets, etc. Common sense tells anybody that it's not a good idea to take a gun to a trial in court, nor to a prison filled with hardened criminals, or to arm the children so they have a shootout at their kinder garden. A responsible parent is in control of the gun (s), not his of her children. However, one can train the kids to understand and know how to use firearms, to hunt, etc. In fact most F&G organizations have gun safety training classes for children and adults, and so the NRA and other organizations.

The idea of protecting children from a few very violent video games is a role of good parents, not the government nor the neighbors, and one doesn't have to be a right winger, nor anybody else for that matter, to understand that a very violent video may include sexual violence, the killing of other human beings, etc. For the same reason, a good parent should not let his or her children watch a porno movie.

I imagine that there aren't divorces, teenage pregnancies, murder, and online pornography taking place in CA, and NY. Right? Perhaps you are looking at "per-capita" numbers." Also, look at the number of abortions taking place.

It seems to me that only a very small portion of crimes are being committed with the use of firearms, at least when comparing all the other crimes. Take a look:

It's not what you have, but rather it's how you use what you have, that makes the difference.

Video games could never teach discretion like a parent or an adult can.

There are gun/hunter safety classes all over the place, and the video games fall extremely short on the educational aspect of gun ownership.

When I was a youngster in high school, we all brought our guns to school. Right after the final bell, we would hop into our trucks and head for the hills for a bit of hunting before dinner.
Our parents (Dads) "taught" us how to use our guns during hunting trips in the previous years, so we all had a pretty good handle on what to do.

Video games are mindless and senseless. They teach "nothing".

The vast majority of Republicans don't think kids should be allowed to "go anywhere with a loaded gun." Nice try.
