So if the first 20% is a failure then what is the logical projection for the next 20%? All of a sudden we should expect 5 million jobs will be created from the next 80% of the stimulus.. Sorry that is not realistic. It is a failure.
Did it occur to you that the 20% that has been allocated probably SAVED a ton of jobs from being lost??
Did you expect 5 million jobs to be created a few months in? Who's not being realistic?
The 20% spent is the equivelent of throwing a tube of yellow dye into the ocean and then wondering why the entire ocean didn't turn yellow....
Again, only 20% has been allocated at this point, so it's too soon to pass judgement IMO..... And again, with the extra $700 Billion; IF it has the potential to save our economy, then maybe it's worth it.... I don't think it will work either, but I'm not ready to call it a "failure" yet either....
The government said the levee's in New Orleans had the potential to save the city from a flood too.

Most of the stimulus so far has gone to states who have used it for unemployment and medicaid, neither of which creates jobs or stimulates economic activity.
As that is impossible to know we should really just stick with what is fact, unemployment is increasing at about 500,000 people a month.
I know a bunch of school districts in my state that WERE going to lay off employees but didn't have to because of stimulus money that was allocated to them....
You can pretend like that's just some isolated anomaly, but it isn't. So FACT: The stimulus, at least for the time being, saved many jobs from being lost.

Not saying that's EXACTLY what is occuring, but I don't doubt some jobs are being created, but more are being lost....

No offense, but you either didn't get the metaphor, OR you are saying that the stimulus was overkill and our economy is going to be just fine without our government doing anything.... I'm going to guess it isn't the latter....
