Lenny Dykstra (NY Mets and Philadelphia Phillies) made a name, "Nails" for himself with his "tough as nails" playing style back in the '80s. In the last few years he's made a name for himself as an "expert" stock picker. Unfortunately, Nails' strategy was to buy options and "sell them (even at very small profits) on any up movement.

In the (fake) bull market of the last few years he looked like a genius. Just like all of the real estate "investors" who knew that the $400,000 house (possibly renting for $2,000/month-LOSER) was "guaranteed" to double in a year of two. Unfortunately the market hasn't been looking too good since mid-07.

But before things went entirely in the crapper for "Nails" (currently about $23,000,000 in debt, $50,000 in assets!) there was an extra "crown" that he managed to have put on his (very tiny) head. JIM CRAMER proclaimed him a "genius" and a guy with a "can't miss" method.

The best part of this is that after Cramer got OWNED by Jon Stewart a few months ago he went on "The Daily Show" and copped a "mea culpa". Then a day or so later he went back no MSNBC and retracted everything he'd said to Stewart. Last night Stewart got his revenge with a full length story on Dykstra, complete with lots of clips of Cramer extolling his virtues.

Like McCain learned with Letterman, you don't try to scam the "funny men" who know how to be SERIOUS.

I guess someone will pipe in shortly and say it is all Barney Frank's fault, or Bill Clinton's, or blame it on the "TOTUS".
