OK how much do you think your Fosamax would cost without it? You also may want to look into a different Part D plan whic may cover what you are on. Go to Medicare.gov, they have an excellent tool for deciding which plan is best for you.

Thanks for the suggestion.
What do you think we have spent hours doing every December?
One can look up what one is already taking
It would be pretty difficult to anticipate the need for a particular antibiotic, as in this instance
Mmmm 2009, the same year as the Democrats. And keep in mind the Dems controlled the Congress for the last 2 years and could have proposed legislation prior to this year as well. Keep in mind the last major change to health care occured under Bush, Medicare part D.
Yes, and Bush was president(sort of) for eight years ...Medicare isn't UHC.
The Democrats may have controlled Congress but with a pres who would veto anything they proposed.
The FACT is, the Republicans had eight years and didn't do anything to control health care costs.
You realize, shorebaby, we're mostly on the same side of this issue.
I am pointing out that a government run program might not be as cheap as many seem to think.

I am sure there is a cheaper alternative in the therapeutic category your physician selected (It is mandated that 2 choices from each therapeutic category be covered). Plus the $70 you paid is less tha it owuld have cost without PArt D. Everybody wants something for nothing.

You may 'be sure' but the medicine prescribed is the best in this instance as well as a continuation of in hospital IV treatment.
Now under all the various Parts of Medicare....A,B and D and with a supplement, we have been paying approx $11,000 a year out of pocket.....not exactly getting something for nothing, would you say?
And yes, I do a thorough job picking out the lowest cost plans that are best for us.
I am willing to pay but am under no delusions that government coverage is FREE or even cheap as so many are counting on

Just because you were on a drug say Cipro in the hospital you don't have to continue on the same drug when discharged. Did anyone find out if there was a cheaper alternative?
The $11,000 you paid was a fraction of the actual cost.
