Well;if its turning blue none of the sates politcal magazines know it has the governors race is still be between Pery and Hutchicin both republicans. Democrats don't have a chance. in fact even teas democrats are conservative oif they want to win ;just as most of the seantors and congressamn gains in teh democratic party last election.Texas republicans and demcrats get along very well because they are both conservtive leaning.Bill Clinton was much better thought of than Obama democratic left wing of the party in Texas.look at Teaxas economy in the last two decdes and see how you would voite. A balanced budget ;industriy moving in ;the most fortune 500 comanies and still satble in this economy.
Well after Katrina Texas (houston) got Katrina refugee's who naturally were Democrats. Next you have how many colleges there? Then you have all the NY'ers, NJ, etc transplants relocating to Texas to retire. Then Dallas is just a transplant haven for California, etc. So when a state gets infested with Liberals. Plus Democrats have a tendency to breed quickly. So look out.
I didnt know if you were leaving one state for another in the same country you were a refugee
Don't forget that Harris County only went about 51% for Obama.
Not to mention that many people who voted Obama (statewide and nationwide) this time were not voting for Obama so much as they were voting against Bush.
And like I said, that is only because Harris County is so large and includes so many suburbs. It still went Obama. Shows you how Blue Houston is.
No, seriously, you may be right. But whatever happens next election (in TX and nationwide) depends on how the next few years go and on who the GOP can come up with in 2012.
I'm more concerned about whether the Democrats or Republicans control Texas on the state level. I'd prefer it to be a reformed Republican Party.
The Californians when they move to my area mostly go for the sterile suburbs and exurbs north of town where they can get a huge tacky McMansion for $200 or $300K. Those have been the most red so I can see that changing. Here in Central Dallas we get more East Coast and other 'creative class' types who come from more urban areas but also there are many more natives than the 'burbs.
I know Houston always goes Blue during elections but what about Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Austin? If the Democratic Candidate can take DFW, Houston, and San Antonio, couldnt he or she win the state? If Texas continues goes blue and stays blue, the GOP can RIP.
