Why? Porn is legal.

What kind of BS is that?

There are plenty of Reps who have much worse skeletons in their closet than falling in love AND MARRYING a porn star.

Give me a break, this is pretty pathetic.

What does being or not being Rep have to do with this?

I wonder how it was discovered?
Did one of the town council members 'just happen' to run across one of her movies?

They are free to fire him if they want to.Most work on contrct at the will of the city. Companies would do the same thing; since they represent the company.

Umm, because you said that it was a bad example from a representative ...duh.

After all, he's not just sleeping with her, she's not a hooker or anything. He's being faithful to his wife, who just happens to get it on for money on film...which is 100% legal in this country.

Ummmm no I did not say that. This is what I said:

Who the man marries has nothing to do with his job. I am not personally into porn but if the man or his wife did not break any laws then he should not have been fired. This is a way for people to push their morals onto others and it is not right. So long as her job is not affecting him from doing his job it is no ones business what she does so long as it is legal. Next they will say mayors can only have sex in the missionary position because all other positions are amoral. GMAB!

The article is actually a great commercial for "Jazella Moore". I may have to ask Google about her.

However, Ft. Myers Beach, FL isn't exactly a bastion of progressive politics full of young, idealistic people who are tolerant of alternative lifestyles and promiscuous sexuality. Its a small retirement haven where people get very upset about their neighbor's car being parked facing the wrong way and more than 18" from the curb. Anything even remotely sexually suggestive is completely terrifying. "My goodness! The mayor supports po-NAW-gruh-fuh! He'll never get re-elected in this town of 6,500 people and will be unable to take advantage of building contractor kick-backs if I have anything to say about it!"

Or at least that's what the mayor is expecting people to say. He's providing a generous severance package as a method of shedding liability and I suspect there was a lengthy consultation with an attorney with the objective of outlining exactly what to say and exactly what to do to shrug off any exposure. Mr. Janke is apparently pretty smart and has managed to get some media attention as leverage for a settlement. I wish him the best of luck.

In any case, land of the free? Yeah, it is. You're free to do or say almost anything you want, but you're also free to suffer consequences from those words, actions or choices. Just ask the Dixie Chicks. I don't think his civil rights have been infringed, but I think he has every right to be pizzed off.

So, wait a minute - the officials in Fort Meyers Beach are saying, "Hey, you can have a quiet affair with this woman, and fornicate with her, but please, DO NOT get married!"

What a terrible, anti-marriage message for them to send to everyone.
