Do you mean "socialist" from the standpoint of wealth redistribution from people according to their ability to pay, to people according to their need?
I mean socialist from the perspective that it is a clear redistribution of wealth packaged in a wrapper labled "retirement plan".
Anyone with a calculator can compute the ROI of this plan. Many years ago I did extensive research on the program as part of my graduate degree. For those of you with SS-aged parents, ask them what their monthly benefit is. Then request a copy of their lifetime contributions report. Compare. SS is not, nor has it ever been, a retirement plan. It is a welfare plan.

Since I do not want government using taxpayer money to fund all abortions, for any reason, then i am a bible thumping, intolerant jerk, who watches the "700 club" goes to church on Sunday, and is a member of the religious right-wing.

Is there a correlation here? Are the people that are against every American being insured the same people that supported Bush's illegal war? Is life and limb that meaningless to you? Just as the life of innocent Iraqis and young American soldiers were were disposable, is it the same on this subject of unisured Americans as long as you follow your inhumane ideology? Who here that did support the war is now supporting a public option health plan? Just curious. My logic is telling me not many. Tell me if I'm wrong.
