And I've heard a fair share of racist comments from blacks against Latinos and whites. White folks aren't the only ignoramuses out there in regards to racism. You cannot fight racism with racism.

Obama being elected President is a sign that things are moving in the right direction, however it is not the end to discrimination and racism. Just as you believe there are things the black community needs to do, many black people feel there is a lot that whites need to do. Being dismissive about our experiences certainly doesn't help the situation. Not talking about race won't improve race relations, particularly when people of color continue to face discrimination.

Whats needed now is for the black community to stop defending black criminals & blaming the actions of them on white people.
OJ killed that girl & her friend & got away with it because of racism on both sides. Its a damn shame we let killers walk free because we feel sorry for something none of us had a part in.

You really had to stretch on this one. Shoplifting? Is that the best you can come up with??? Disproprtionately reperesented in prison? Institutional, did someone force them to commit a crime or were they all set up?

I can come up with a better one: Whites are disproportionately represented in the numbers of mass murderers in the US. But in regards to your last statement, no one forced those who are in prison to commit the crimes that they were found guilty of. I don't agree with the notion of institutional racism and find that to be a cop out in terms of personal responsibility.

Yeah I guess that the May Day rallies across the country where MILLIONS of immigrants were marching for amnesty werent raising hell at all.

Dont forget to throw in that the majority of pedophiles are white too! I can't believe shop lifting was thrown out before that. I mean were only 70% of the population!

You're right. Most blacks vote Democratic across the board and I suspect most voted for Obama strictly because he was black. There were black people who voted in this election who hadn't voted in years or never did and voted for Obama simply because he was black, not for what he brought to the table. Isn't voting for someone just because of the color of his skin racist? Would they have all come out to vote if Hillary was the Democratic candidate?

I think that's why the Gates case struck so many people, b/c it shows not even a well dressed, educated, upper class black man can escape the type of racism directed at blacks and minorities at the other end of the spectrum. once you've "made it", you're supposed to escape all of that
The problem with your statement is, Gates was the racist in this incident..! One would expect more from an educated gentleman, but even he couldn't wait to start the confrontation, then toss out the race card... ..
Once you've 'made it", you should be above sinking to suck lows...
