Well, regardless of what you think, they're in it, with medicare, medicaid (a state/fed program), the VA health care, the IHS, and a lot of other programs.
Time the rat is put back in the cage it belongs in. Not time to let it out of the house too.
Tindo, I'm not sure if you're aware BUT TX is not so worthless. We have the most Fortune 500 companies of any state in the nation, we are actually a donor state (send MORE to Washington than we get back), and plus, where would all the California refugees go if we seceded?
I'm glad you left - along with your hatred.
You could only be half as glad as I am that I left. Maybe when the state stops stooping to the lowest common denominator, and glamorizing cowboy idiocy as a culture and villifying diversity and intellectualism, I will return.
The state is far too far gone for that, but anything is possible.
The state may bring in more than it puts out tax wise, but it actually overall cost america significantly more with its serious social problems and unending stream of under-educated kids moving out of the state. I say this because I was one of them. Im not some starry eyed foolish liberal, bashing the state because its right wing extremism. I am and was a big fan of when conservative state democrats were at the helm of the state (post dixiecrats). Its just that the state seems to be facing backwards in every significant issue in america. Above that, it has the gall to threaten to leave when it does not get its way. No one wants the state.
well fine then. Let the Federal Gov't withhold ALL healthcare funding for healthcare (Medicare, Medicaid, etc) and let's see how the conservative hillbillies like that. I remember that all states were forced to raise the drinking age to 21 in order to keep their federal highway funding coming. The federal gov't controls the pursestrings, therefor runs the show. Perry is just playing to his ignorant conservative base again.
what a hateful little liberal you are. conservatives aren't hillbillies. your party is associated with the trash we got from new orleans here in houston. do you like that?
I don't particularly care for any of the proposals being tossed around in Congress. That said, assuming something passes, Perry has no business pulling this crap.
Actually he does since Texas can choose to leave the USA and become a country.
This reform would kill more senior citizens as they will not get there treatment.
The government will not invest funds into a person who is 70 plus years old!

Private healthcare companies already do that. Dont argue the change in the system unless the status quo offers something better.

Ignorant?
Texas is the most prosperous economy in the US right now and they did it by maintaining conservative taxes (lowest in the nation) and spending. They, unlike NY, MI, MA, RI, CA and other socialist empires, are not low on funds. BO might want to keep TX out of the news so as to not draw attention to their highly successful economic model.
