More ice caps/ice sheets are developing in the Antarctica.
That was a commonly held belief up until a year or two ago, until new data proved it false. The Western Antarctic ice shelf has been known to be melting since the late 1990's. It is at least 30 years ahead of predictions made less than a decade ago. At the current rate it will be gone entirely in less than 50 years. When that happens the cold currents that originate beneath the shelves that cool Southeast Asia will also be gone. At that time the temperature of India and the rest of those countries are expected to rise 30-50 degrees F.
The Eastern icecap on its high plateau was once thought to be "immune" from global warming, and can be shown to have the same type of thickening due to snowfall as the Greenland cap. The discovery of the "rivers" of fast moving ice withing the icecaps has revised that picture to show a substantial rate of loss, rather than the gain percieved a few years ago.

Graphic images that reveal the devastating impact of global warming in the Arctic have been released by the US military. The photographs, taken by spy satellites over the past decade, confirm that in recent years vast areas in high latitudes have lost their ice cover in summer months.
The pictures, kept secret by Washington during the presidency of George W Bush, were declassified by the White House last week. President Barack Obama is currently trying to galvanize Congress and the American public to take action to halt catastrophic climate change caused by rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
No secret here. For 30 years civilian satellites have been imaging the exact same Earth as military. Bush Derangement Syndrome used to promote the global warming superstition. That merits an 'A' for creativity.
I knew that somehow this too would be Bush's fault.

They both clearly demonstrate the year-to-year variability of ice conditions and document the progess of summer ice break-up in Barrow 2006 in unprecedented detail. However, unlike suggested by some, comparing summer ice conditions in July 2006 and July 2007 is not sufficient evidence to verify a trend.

Droughts have been occuring for millions of years. This planet is constantly changing.
Just because human beings are here now and the change is an inconvenience to our lives; doesn't mean mother nature is going to put the brakes on it....to appease us.
For all we know....in another 100....to 200 years, Canada may turn into a tropical landscape and Florida and all those islands......could be the next snowy, icey landscape to host winter ice hockey and polar bears.
Just because some greedy corporations (and rich men) have decided to cash in on this "Go Green" "Carbon Footprint" thing; doesn't mean I have to take the bait.
There are definitely things we should be doing to clean up our way life and the toxiw pollution we're dumping into all of our natural resources (air, waters, soil and oceans).
But most of this cr*p is exactly that. Cr*p.
Stop using plastics. Stop using Mercury and dumping Mercury into our waters, oceans and soil. Stop using plastics. Go back to palm based materials like rattan and other stuff like Bamboo and glass.
That's the kind of stuff we need to do.
This Carbon Footprint stuff is bullsh*t.
