Ford it is.

I won't buy foreign and send my money overseas. Walmart already does enough of that.

GM and Chrysler won't get anything from me.

Hondas and Toyotas are both built in my state, that's probably better than GM and Chrysler. Though I agree, my next car will be a Ford.

I hate Fords. Will never buy one again. I own a Chrysler and GMC. I'll stick with those companies. That GM and Chrysler received bailouts is irrelevant to me.

I bought a brand new Caddy Deville back in 2001 and it still runs and looks brand spanking new.

No on GM/Chrysler. You sell your soul to the devil (Govt) then be damned.

I'll buy a Ford when they pull their heads out of their a$$es and actually build a quality vehicle that doesn't break down or have major issues every few months.

Until then, I'm keepin my rice rockets.

I own a Chrysler and a GM. Am I now a satanist?

Seriously, do you guys hate the government so much that it influences what you buy? If GM and Chrysler come out with superior products, will you still pass them up based on the bailouts?

The best car I ever owned was a 1997 Ford Contour. I had it for ten years and put over 160,000 miles on it. I can count the number of problems I had with the car on two fingers - fuel pump failed once as did the alternator. Neither were very expensive to repair.

I've had my 2002 Chevy Astro (bought used) for just shy of three years. I spent more on repairing it in the first year and a half than I spent fixing the Ford in the decade I owned it. In the last three months, I've put another $1500 into it.

It's very unlikely that I'll ever buy another GM product. I'll buy another Ford in a heartbeat, though. The only reason I went with the Astro in the first place was because it's the only minivan that's rear wheel drive and has any kind of decent towing capacity.

Everyone has their own preferences and experiences. Your decision, based on experience, is perfectly reasonable. However, those who choose brands based on government bailouts seems short-sighted.
