There are approximately 500 permanent residents on the SE island I live on in Alaska and I have yet to hear one resident of voting age (or any age) say anything positive about the woman. And, yes I have spoken to all them since Bailin' quit her job. Her name invariably comes up. They celebrated her quitting her job. So, unless you know otherwise, I wouldn't be making any assumptions about Alaskan's if I were you. She has her supporters but, in my world, they are fishermen/women here for our wonderful salmon and halibut fishing from the -48.
To review: no one in the little island you live on likes Sarah Palin, and everyone is there to kill fish.
I am forced to reluctantly conclude that your collective motivations in life are certainly no more and probably considerably less sophisticated than Mrs. Palin's.
I am further compelled to speculate that Alaska voters are as bizarre in their judgement as those of Minnesota, but that's another topic for another thread...

In August of last year she had the highest rating of any governor in the nation at 80%.
My what a fickle bunch you Alaskans are!

Then you've talked to about .00073% of Alaska's population.
And I'm not doubting you. But responses can range within the same state depending on where you live.
You go to downtown Raleigh and ask everyone about Obama you would probably get a favorable rating. You go to Locust, NC (about 30 mins outside of Charlotte) and you would probably get a very poor rating of Obama.

From a news reports (on internet radio from Alaska) it would seem that mostly tourists showed up for her farewell address...........
i think you have to ask palin and the people who supports her thatwere at her last picnics/conferences etc in AK when she blasted the media, SHE SAYS she fighting for the interest of AK if palin is out for palin then why does she have supporters?
Of course she has supporters here; I doubt that she has the support of the majority of the voters anymore. And fyi...quite a few of the people at her picnics were from out of state. We get a huge amount of visitors every year.
Her saying that she is fighting for the "interest of Alaska" is a bunch of empty crap. She had her chance to do so when we elected her as governor, but she quit.

Actually...that particular poll had the usual choices...excellent, good, fair, and poor. Everything but the "poor" votes were counted as approval. And I would have given her a "fair" rating myself at one time.
A lot of the support she had really came from the dissatisfaction we had with the previous governor; we were glad to get anyone but him.
We aren't fickle; it's just that a lot of things came to light during the months before the election, and the ex governor did a couple of 180s on issues that are important to us.
