Default Dem Advantage Over GOP Has Expanded Since Election: Gallup

After seven months of controlling the
White House and Congress, Democrats
have slightly expanded their electoral
advantage over the GOP, a new Gallup poll finds.

The survey, conducted between January and
June of 2009, finds that 30 states prefer
the Democratic party by ten points or
more, while only 4 states prefer the GOP
by as much.

Dem Advantage Over GOP Has Expanded Since Election: Gallup

According to the Real Clear Politics average, the Congressional Job Approval rating is 30.6%. However, Democrats have a slight lead over Republicans- 43.5% to 42.3%- in the generic Congressional ballot surveys (though this figure includes a poll taken from July 10 to the 12th, without which Republicans have a very thin lead over Democrats).

43.5 to 42.3 Wow- that is a huge difference.

The week in polls

You are cheering because you believe your "team" is winning. Meanwhile Congress has a 30% approval and Congressmen both R and Ds are going to get pummelled by their constituants when they go home on vacation.

Congratulations on your victory. It has really helped America.

Why it's increasingly difficult to take Rasmussen polls seriously

July 07, 2009 12:49 pm ET by Eric Boehlert

The surveys seem to exist solely to advance GOP talking points. Meaning,
Rasmussen at times appears to function less as a legitimate polling firm and more as
the polling wing of the RNC. Today's new survey about Sarah Palin and the repercussions of her
"No mas" moment is a perfectly example.

Right.....from this map no less.

I guess the south is now democratic.

The most ridiculous thing I've seen in a while.

Do you realize how simple it will be to turn NC, OH, VA, and all those other "red" states back where they belong?

It's not ridiculous at all.

Bush destroyed the Republican Party brand. Republicans won't be back in control for at least a generation.
