They will however begin to repeat the same Bill Kristol, Sean Hannity, Drudge, FoxNews rant about socialism and how Obama is going to "kill granny".

How is Obama "pushing through" legislation without input from Dems? Do you, or these friends understand anything about the legislative process? No one has had to "fight" to get their voice heard! NO ONE (sorry for shouting that), except idiots believe John Boehner's LIE that none of the Republicans were allowed to attend, speak at or have any input in House meetings.

If you are as widely varied in your political opinions, and a thinking person as you claim to be, you should not need me to point out these fallacies to you. The only people who believe any of the stuff that your friends say is people who get all of their opinions from right wing sources. Those arguments are very easy to refute with facts, but just like on here FACTS DO NOT MATTER to these people.

Facts? I have been very involved in the legislative process and have, indeed, helped write legislation (at the state level, not at federal level). I have provided info, however, for both Congressmen and Senators at the federal level, in re: to proposed legislation.

I suspect I am one of the few people in this whole country who has actually read the entire Cap & Trade bill and both healthcare reform bills (the latest versions available as with legislation being in mark up, no way to know what changes are being made and are yet unpublished).

So I am not talking out my ass here. This legislation has been pushed through in an attempt to quell any attempts at changing the legislation as first proposed.

I don't listen to pundits and neither do my friends. We are professionals who read and analyze for ourselves. You sure like to paint w/ a broad brush.

And you must not have much experience actually dealing with the legislative process or you would be fully aware how it works in both committee and on the floor. The majority really does rule - along w/ arm-twisting, compromise and downright threats of non-support for dissenters who may have legislation of their own that needs to get out of committee.

You are misinformed if you believe otherwise.

I think it's hilarious to see people actually believe the really crazy stuff, entertainment for me. I guess people need to believe at least one thing that's really out there to keep them going, unable to be solved but just chipped away at for the rest of their life...right or wrong. Some go way overboard with it though.

My favorite is a woman who believed the government, who were lizard men from Jupiter, was reading her thoughts from RFID's implanted in her tear ducts. They were tracking her because they found out she knew they destroyed the twin towers with giant mirrors, each at least half the size of the moon. We got to know this when she decided our dog was part of the plot, but she would only accuse him when my wife was walking him...she was terrified of me. She eventually moved away, not sure why but I think our dog played a part.
