And today, many have the insurance company pick their doctor and determine what treatment will be performed.

Good grief... there are many people today that can't do what you claim can be done.

Many people do not have insurance through their employer so they are paying through the nose for coverage that doesn't cover enough. When most people buy their insurance they have NO idea what health issues they might have in the future so they go with what they can afford which is in many instances not nearly enough. There is NO WAY I would be able to afford MY health insurance without my employer nor would I be able to afford the meds that I have to take for my health issues. My meds alone are $1800/month. More than my rent. More than 1/2 my take home pay. I am lucky I have insurance.

Get real Janelle, you don't have a say in what happens to you now. Let's say you lose your fabulous insurance that makes you giddy as noted above and then you get a disease. Find insurance now. You are going to have to link to someone other than Hannity for someone other than republicans to listen to you.

But then, there's not much that you COULD use as an example, as virtually every government run program is mediocre, at best.

I want every congressman who votes against health care reform to be forced to abandon their own government health care.

They are stuck with it now or they would change it. The same place we will be if this passes.
This has been discussed and largely debunked over and over. Do a search on it.

My parents have died and my in-laws as well so we don't have elderly to worry about anymore---maybe you do.

I remember my hubby working hours on the paperwork for his folks since they were on Medicade so they could keep getting care. That is the future for everyone if this bill passes.
Are you sure you mean medicaid, and not medicare (the more common program for the elderly)? In any event, some people have to fight their insurance companies to get them to pay what the contract says they will pay. It happened to me.

I want every congressman who votes FOR this bill to have to live with the insurance as well. NO, they all have their own health gold standard insurance and they sure won't give it up for this crap they are forcing on us.

Interested in how you got that figure (or how your source got that figure) seeing as how we are number 1 in the world when it comes to cancer survival rates.

Health care is broken, no one is debating that but why bury it with this bill. There are other alternatives. Let people shop their own insurance. Put competition into it. That is the only way prices ever come down.

Insurance companies will sell stripped down policies that pay out even less than they do now if they are deregulated.
