I also heard demand has fizzled out.

Dealers wait for 'cash for clunkers' payments - JSOnline

Quote:
A growing number of auto dealers say the process of getting paid under the government's "cash for clunkers" plan increasingly resembles some of the wrecks accumulating on their lots as part of the program.
How many believe the government can run anything in an efficient, productive, timely manner?

Some success.

Auto Dealers Paid for Just 2 Percent of 'Clunkers' Claims, Congressman Says - Political News - FOXNews.com

Quote:
In the letter, Sestak said only 2 percent of claims have been paid and that four of every five applications have been "rejected for minor oversight."
Mind you, Sestak is a liberal democrat.

"Reason for refusal: NONE GIVEN"

THEN the notice said:
"request may be re-submitted if reason for refusal is corrected".

You have to hand it to them in DC. They certainly are a comic bunch.

The government is all about hope. They are hoping that we will forget about transparency.

p.s. I heard repair shop owners complaining that their business is down. So, when some of these family businesses close, how many more jobs will be lost because of the government's clever ways of stimulating the economy?
Sounds like someone could not afford a new car.

Yep.

"Hundreds of auto dealers in the New York area have withdrawn from the government's Cash for Clunkers program, citing delays in getting reimbursed by the government, a dealership group said Wednesday."

And some people think the government will be able to effectively manage a much larger public option healthcare program.

Many of the people who are demanding this wonderful heathcare program don't give a crap about how effectively its run. They just want their HC costs covered at the expenses of others. They are sure as hell not footing the bill.

And this is the same government some want to run HC? What a friggin joke - they've been turning down dealer rebates on "technicalities".

It would be interesting to see the breakdown of which dealerships are getting more approvals than others. I wonder if GM branded dealerships are having a better rate of success in receiving the C4C reimbursements while the foreign dealerships ae getting more applications kicked back.
