If she treats this child like this in public I can only imagine how she treats him in private.

Amen my friend, amen to that!

Who said that? Way to twist my words. Your own words about how you hover at the playground are indication enough of your over-protectiveness and stiffing ways.

Ok because I watch my children that equates to hovering? No it is called being a good parent. It has squat to do with what this woman did. She made the wrong choice. PERIOD.

You didn't say you "watched" your kids, you said "When my child plays on the playground I am constantly supervising them and telling them no to things that can hurt them, all protect measures taken,......" That's hovering.

She may have made a wrong choice -- or not -- but she isn't abusive.

Supervise/watch when did they become something different? I let them do what is age appropriate. That IMO is not hovering. Do they get hurt? Sure but if they do get hurt I'll be damn if I am the cause of it like this woman would have been if that kid had gotten hurt. Her actions make me wonder how she treats this kid in private, she is bold enough to drag him through a store when he is misbehaving what does she do at home?

LOL ok so as long as the kid is having fun it is ok to put them in a situation where he could have been hurt seriously? My 5 year old love to go fast should I let him drive my car he would have a great time.

Funniest Home Video once showed a kid being dragged through the house while holding onto a dogs tail.
Suppose the parents should be arrested for abuse over that too, huh?
If I see you scratch your nose in public can I assume you probably scratch your a*s at home?

Ugh she was NOT at home she was in a store where the kid could have gotten hurt. I would hope the kid holding on to the doggies tail was being watched by mom or dad. Look I have no idea why she chose to do this but IMO is was a very poor choice and I would love to know how far she dragged the kid when she hit the parking lot.
