The American Psychological Association declared Wednesday that mental health professionals should not tell gay clients they can become straight through therapy or other treatments.

Instead, the APA urged therapists to consider multiple options — that could range from celibacy to switching churches — for helping clients whose sexual orientation and religious faith conflict.

a doctor can't fix something that's always been there and will always be...
the only thing to fix is where you go on sunday and the kinds of people you associate with
I don't go to church because A. i don't buy the storytime antics.. and B. I value myself enough to not submit myself to their hate and blind ignorance...

My impression is that we've reached a point where most people believe that sexual orientation is fixed and can't be changed, although according to recent polling, 40% actually said that same-sex relationships should be illegal, the same number as it was in the early 1980s.

Majority of Americans Continue to Oppose Gay Marriage
************************************************** ******

Thank the good folks who fund the groups that propagate hatred against gays and lesbians, intimating that gay marriage will somehow devalue heterosexual marriages. Can someone explain that to me, without resorting to the use of ancient Jewish scripture? Maybe provide the textual link where Jesus mentioned it? After 30 years of fundamentalist intervention in the lives of others, it's a miracle that it isn't below 40%.

That isn't a new message from the APA although it may be the first time it was spoke this directly. It is appropriate though.

Don't believe it. The Homosexual Mafia bought the physcological professions back in 1852 (for 5 dollars, which was a lot of money to psychologists back then, trust me) in order to learn secret mind tricks that could advance its gaygenda through hypnosis.

They've come out against conversion therapy in the past, but this is the first time that they've taken a comprehensive look at over 80 studies on this type of therapy since 1960. It's also the first time they've come out with a detailed assessment of how therapists can help religious clients who are struggling with being gay and want to remain loyal to a church that disapproves of homosexuality.

But they should have come up with a more colorful headline. Something like: "Doctors agree: Trying to turn a homosexual into a heterosexual is like trying to turn a cat into a dog."

It amazes me people still think this can be "fixed", its a evolutionary change that some people have taken.
