Why do republicans hate San Francisco more than Las Vegas? (activist, radical)

Republicans claim to be the party of family values
but seem to have a sick hate towards the city of San Francisco, to the point that Bill O'reilly one time said that he wants Al-Qaida to attack San Francisco.
But I have NEVER heard one republican criticize the city of Las Vegas,
a city built by the mafia and full of gambling, prostitution and known for their drive-thru weddings.
What's more important for republicans?
Political affiliation (being a brainwash ideologue that hates a city where more that 51% votes against their party)
or moral values and family values (stand up against gambling, prostitution and drive-thru weddings).

You're an idiot, you really think that San Francisco doesn't have venture firms? You really think that Menlo Park VC firms don't do all their business in San Francisco? What about all the major banks based there? Again, I repeat. Have you ever been? Plus, Silicon Valley and San Francisco have the exact same politics. Nothing wrong with San Francisco buts the groups you alluded to. As a real American who earned that right as my parents and grandparents did, you values are un-American and un-Christian and that is what made America great. Diversity is great but perversity is an evil throughout the ages. Nothing is natural about your representation of those groups, and it is againist God's will - at least we and our Moslem friends can agree on that fact. But they deal with it where we tolerate it - so our values have sunk into the morass that blemishes a beautiful city...
When San Francisco rejoins the morals of the USA, then it will earn its rightful place as somewhere I want my family to live. At present, Sodom and Gomorrah would be welcomed as compared to the evil of this city and its denizens.

People who think that San Francisco represents Communism have clearly never been there and obviously never lived there. In fact, other than NYC, it's the most Capitalistic city in America, more than LA, more than Chicago, more than DC, more than Boston.
And since I live in San Diego, one of the most SOCIALIST cities in the country, it's funny to me that San Diego is considered a conservative stronghold and SF is the epitome of everything evil on the left. In actuality, SF denies the Government's aid by kicking the military out and opening up the land to COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT. In San Diego we shun commercial development (like building a new airport) in favor of a massive military presence. Isn't the military supported by government taxes? Wouldn't a city whose economy is mostly based on government support be considered a Socialistic city? Well, why is it that San Diego is less hated than San Francisco when it's clear that San Diego is far more supported by the government and far less beneficial to the US Economy?

There's a ton of gay people in West Hollywood, so the hatred can be directed towards them.
They produce crap films like Transformers and GI Joe, so the hatred can be directed towards them.
They idolize Michael Jackson and have given rise to this moronic TMZ culture we have these days, so the hatred can be directed towards them.
And they've polluted the air so much that their pollution can be felt hundreds of miles away, so the hatred can be directed towards them.
Plus, LA is the city that has been home to Playboy, the Porn Industry, The "liberal Media", most celebrities, prostitutes and tons of drugs.

Sorry if I have misjudged you,but suggest that you do not use the word "progressive" in self descriptions.To those of us from the conservative wing of the Republican Party that word means far left radical,or,if you please,Marxist/Leninist.While I can understand the very human emotion of defending ones home,perhaps a closer look at its faults would be prudent.Like you,except for non partisan offices,have always voted Republican or independant.Also like you,am a Navy veteran,early Vietnam era.

NYC is more of a nanny state than San Francisco.
SAN DIEGO is MUCH MORE of a Nanny State than San Francisco, they even busted the (legal under state law) Medical Marijuana clubs here while San Francisco allowed them to freely open and conduct business. So if anywhere is a "nanny state" in California, it's the conservative stronghold of San Diego.
Have you heard of the stupid laws in San Francisco? A grocery bag fee, banning of plastic grocery bags, an oridance telling dog owners how to feed their dogs what to feed their dogs how to water the dogs in what kind of bowls and where to put the bowls, how big the dog bowls must be...
